I think that riot should fix that when some champ have melee weapon and when that champ use basic and if someone flash away that basic still follows him, i think that riot can make when you run away from range that basic cancel.

People have always claimed that this is a bad idea because ranged AAs follow you, and so melee AAs should follow as well for fairness, because melee is already at a disadvantage relative to ranged simply because of the range.
I'm with you though. It feels TERRIBLE to flash away from a melee AA only to have it follow you if the animation has started, even for 1 frame. On the reverse side of that, if ranged AAs did not follow outside their range, it would be even more oppressive fighting against any ADC that has a higher range than you.
Flash used to projectile pop as well. Veigar ult coming your way? Flash. Aaaaaand it's gone. (And flash had nearly double the range that it does now, but I digress)
Not sure where the community at large stands on this topic nowadays, but I think flashing a melee AA should cancel it honestly.
