Matchmaking Ruining Game Experience

Someone please explain this "matchmaking" in normal PvP that riot uses. I'm a lvl 15, trying to learn the game, and I get matched vs a lvl 30, with over 1,100 wins, that someone tells me he's a Diamond 5, so I look later and sure enough he is.

Someone please explain to me how this is a good experience for anyone? If you want to troll, sure, it is great for you. If you want to learn and get better at the game, it is better for no one, not even the higher ranked person in the game.

Riot is HUGE on "making the game experience fun for everyone." They say those kinds of things in the summoners code and advertisements and streams, etc... However, this is basically ruining the game for myself and many others that I speak with about this. We will simply keep playing the games we always have, which haven't been this one until we decided to try it. Other PvP games don't match a skilled player vs a non-skilled one for any reason.

Hopefully there is a rational explanation for this. Does it happen this way in ranked games too where they just throw a Diamond in with a Bronze? That would be stupid, but so far it seems like they would. Which is laughable that a company that makes hundreds of millions a year can't figure out a common sense matchmaking system.

If this is the way it is, there are way too many games out there that are more fun than a game with a fisher-price matchmaking system.

As I do on all forums, trolls will be ignored. I don't feed trolls, so if you are one and want to make a troll comment, please crawl back under the rock you came out of and continue to not exist. That is where you belong.

Thanks to the non-trolls that actually reply.

It is because if he queues with one or more low level it will queue the two with anyone. So you were unlucky and got a level 30 in your match. The way they could fix it is by making match making with a level 30 in the game everyone is level 30 (I am level 30 but queue with a level 5 we would all be with and vs level 30's . I dont know how they could fix normal match making though.

Matchmaking is stupidly broken even at lvl 30. I would love to know how it works exactly.

I'm not great at this game. I'm a casual player and I try to learn things by my own rather than simply copy/pasting someone else's builds or ways of play. My win/loss record is still below 1:1 so you think they'd want to match me with more skilled players that would bring us up to some kind of medium and likewise with the other team. Why is it then, that I end up getting stuck with more lousy players (or, God forbid, worse) and the other team gets all skilled and experienced players? I'm not even talking about rift or ranked. I'm talking about ARAM. It used to be fun, but now there's little in the way of competing. It's either you steamroll them or they steamroll you. Once in a rare while I'll get a good back-and-forth match but most of the time it's tragic how lopsided the match ends up either for or against me.

They lowered the surrender time to 15 minutes on ARAM and I routinely see games finished before that mark even comes up. Get rid of the fucking snowball and fix the queue! It may be fun to be diamond rank and crush everyone with premades but it's fun for no one on the bottom. Keeping in mind that this IS still a game, it's supposed to be fun for all involved and I think Riot is losing that perspective in favor of pandering to only the hard-core players.
