Is rank replacement even fair

Riot i have a biggest question for you. How could i only lost 3/10 game in replacement, worked my heart out being all kind of laner, top, sup, jg. Flashed out to saved people life and i WON 7 games with at least 60-70% involvement in kills and all i get was BRONZE 4 ??? So you can sell more skins and champion and make people play more? Like its not even fair?? Other people lost 4/10, 5/10 and they still Gold or Plat and im lost 3/10 still stuck at Bronze 4??? Yall people killing hopes of player in the community trying to get out of sugar-honey-ice-tea hole that not even fair match up. Pls riot, we all love you, but fix your game and give people a little hope or a chance to even fairly considering to play in rank.

Its based off where you were last season... It doesnt reset your mmr dude.

There's a soft reset of mmr.

There's a soft reset of mmr.

What is it you think that means exactly?

That mmr gets reset to a preset combination of last season's mmr and preseason's mmr, generally dropping lower than previous seasons.

But the difference between what you said "based off last season..it doesn't reset" (paraphrased I apologize) and it in fact resetting is that it cleans the change difference. Meaning that you will gain/lose more mmr than you would at the end of a season for example (assuming you played all season).

This is the same as happens every year.

Have no idea where you heard this, or what this would even mean if true. Your mmr didnt change from last season to this seasons preseason, its just been a continuous background number the entire time. Like I said, your mmr has not reset. When you do placements you'll get placed based off where your mmr ended up by the end of those 10 games, and the rank will be lower so your mmr will be weighted to give you that artificial climb to get back to where you were even with a 50% w/r.

(Current MMR + 1200) / 2

Thats the formula for your placement after you played 10 games.

It's not "replacement". It's a reset. Challenger and master tier players are reset to diamond and plat depending on their performance in placement games and have to climb their way back up. So plats and diamonds that performed worse are in diamond, gold, or possibly even silver. Gold players are in silver and bronze. So silver players are in silver or bronze. Bronze players are in low bronze. Not because Riot hates you, but because of a trickle down displacement effect. I dropped a full tier basically - I'm not complaining. Last season I had equal or even better winrate in placement games and dropped 1.5 tiers from gold to bronze 3. And your first few games have a bigger impact on your placement because they are getting you to roughly your correct elo for starting the season; the later games are for refining that.

Ex - your first games might by shifting you among bronze, silver, and gold depending on if you win or lose. Your later games might decide where you fall within silver. Thus, if you lose more of your early games, you will be placed in lower elo than someone who wins all their early games and goes 50/50 towards the end of their placement games.

Ranked placements isn't perfect, but they did a better job this season from what I've seen in MOST games; very few 1-sided stomps or games where 1-4 people were clearly boosted or inting the whole game while the other person(s) on the team deserved win WAY more than anyone on opponent team.
