Is machine gun lulu still viable??

It works fairly well, especially against bruisers, since you can kite them really easily. Only consistent problem is that the items are expensive, so it's hard to reach full build if you don't get fed.

Yeah, this is definitely the better build. I would only use this build against immobile bruisers, though. Otherwise, the full AP build is better for the Glitterlance burst and higher shields + ult health.

Top lane for sure, so you can just AA harass bruisers. In mid lane you're going to encounter much burstier assassins/ mages.

Lulu is a utility mage, not building AP or CDR turns you into a mediocre short range auto-attacker.

Sailor Mint2 votesCompared to her casting range and the range of things that can kill her, it's short. And unlike ADCs, she doesn't have lifesteal or easy reposition. Without AP her shields and ult are a lot weaker.
It's a fun build, but it's not good enough for serious games.

you can make it work but it's not going to get you into the LCS
lots of stuff can work on Lulu. I built gunblade + trinity + IE on her in a game not long ago and won the game pretty handily. it certainly wasn't better than a normal build, but it was fun.
