Smiteing Red/Blue or not

So whenever I play Jungle my friends are always like "Dude why do you smite first camp?" and tbh it's probably because so the smite can recharge faster so i can smite red after, so, what's the reasoning do I smite first camp or not?

Depends on champ, pathing, runes, masteries, intention for clearing etc etc.

Pro clears are usually

Blue/red then you smite blue/red

Or wraith leash into smiting red, then hitting 3 with the red's healing from hitting blue
