Taric and Master Yi Funneling Needs to be Removed

Taric mid is currently the highest winrate mid laner with a whopping 64% winrate. Players that would normally be stuck in mid plat or low diamond are now getting to high diamond and master abusing this strategy. This combination has been an issue for a long time now and it hasn't gone away despite repeat efforts from Riot. Here is what I propose:

Master Yi is just overtuned in general. He needs a nerf to his E damage, it's ridiculous how much true damage he does. Alternatively you could nerf his base armor or base attack speed. His clear is too healthy, and one of the only ways to counter funneling is by invading Yi.

Taric's ult duration should be changed to 2 seconds, and as compensation he receives better numbers across his other abilities.

The fact Taric is almost always part of a non-meta cheese scheme tells me that something is wrong with the champ.

I mean, this is the only thing that gives him an existence. I feel like the rework could have been done better, because every support just outclasses the shit out of him if he just goes normal support in bot.

I disagree. I say keep this strategy and let other people find the counters to that.

For one fucking season let's try to not gut anything that isn't the stereotypical 112+jg. And see how it goes.

Cause for 10 damn years we are in the same damn meta.

Who knows, maybe laneswaping your botlane to mid and permashove the taric is the answer. Or simply sending your support mid to perma harass him. Just let this be for a couple months and see what solution comes about.

Or simply ban one or the other

Right.......instead of people complaining all the time wanting stuff removed...why dont they just add to their skill and knowledge and figure out how to beat it.

I mean, it's just an opinion. I believe strategies like that shouldn't be nipped at the bud. But allow them to exist for a period of time until people become familiar with it and are more comfortable playing into it. If it's a problem after that period of time still, then sure, do something to directly nerf it.

Again, just my personal take on the matter.

Banning is not counterplay, we need to stop treating it like this or else riot will leave things broken and say “ban it lol” until its time for worlds

That’s the issue. There is no counter. A fed yi that has an invuln, has a heal, has a point and click stun, has a “Vanish from existence” and is fed by default due to getting a jungle and a lane worth of farm, has no counterplay.

Ban him is not counterplay. Pick a comp that is ALL cc is not counterplay. Shove taric under. Okay? Then yi comes and collects his farm from mid again?

And it’s not like this hasn’t been an issue before. It’s happened more than once.

How do you know that? did you try playing 2 people mid? Or what you mean is, if I play comps and styles we ve been playing for 10 years there is no counter? Maybe it's time the meta completely shifts, cause league has gone downhill A LOT. Maybe it's time we start having 3 solo lanes and 2 junglers. Maybe it's time ADC goes mid again like early season 1. NONE has tried these things, and the only way for them to be tried is if we DONT GUT ANYTHING that changes the meta. Let pro players figure out in pro how to deal with all these things, then copy them. I am 100% positive if this yi+taric goes pro, after a couple weeks we will have solid counter comps. It was the same with sona/taric and after a while it was considered soft inting (except for NA lul, DL sona main)

You don’t have to try it to know it won’t work.

The issue is a fed yi by default has no counterplay. You aren’t stopping him from getting jungle gold and lane gold.

I believe there are single champs that need to be addressed first before we go into addressing double champion combos. And especially the ones that defy the normal meta of 2 solo lanes 1 jg 2 bot.

You don't remember people crying about sona taric, and then morgana solo bot was the counter? Did you see anyone saying that was a counter before it was played in pro? No? I wonder why... since you don't have to try it to know it will work...

You, me, or any player that is playing solo and especially if lower than masters can't possibly come up with the counters, because we don't have scrimming environment to test it over and over and over without player skill affecting the data. How can you deny this?

Then fine. How do you stop him from getting his farm. Because that is the ONLY way to stop him from getting fed.

Note taric is always going to be coming to help him because that is taric’s only job.

IDK. Maybe have an early game jgler that can cuck yi 1v1 and ganks mid the first 15 mins of the game. It's not like the yi is gonna be ganking, so the enemy jg doesn't need to either. And the enemy mid always has his JG back.

But I am not a pro player/coach, so I am not really able to say.

Okay. So you need an early game jungler, than can 2v1 in the jungle and gank a taric that will never be pushing the lane? And yi is never alone. Taric is HIS support. You will never be “1v1” with yi.

And pray tell, who would that be?

can you grasp the concept of " you have to give pros time to get an answer to it" ?

Maybe you have to play with your Mid as well. Go to yis jungle as mid and jg and wipe them level 1 and take his farm. What's the problem? You won't be behind the taric in lane so you don't need to be in mid lane at all.

You think stuff like reksai/lee/xin combined with an aggro midlaner can't 2v2 taric-yi at level 1? Taric will be so fearsome with ONE SPELL. -.-

Maybe you play nunu and perma counterjg yi from level 1. I DONT FREAKING KNOW. Someone will find the answer between the 150 champs all their combinations and all the different approaches to it.

All we know is that playing standard starting at your jungle and having your mid farm mid is not effective.

Maybe you play trynda+yuumi with double smite and match the yi taric. Have people tried multiple approaches or have they been playing like they are facing a standard comp?

Can you honestly tell me people facing this in soloq converse amongst them and try to find good answers? OR do they just play what they would play vs K6+orianna mid?
