Saw him in lcs and im like "lemme try him" first game vs an illaoi one trick i go 8/0/0 and they surr at 15 (others on my team were fed aswell). Urgot's dual potential is insane he gets a beefy shield from his w + revitalize lots of dmg with one item a pretty good slow on his q for gap closing and escaping and the fear on his ult is extremely good for team fights or if u were to be tower dived by 2 more people. Every game i play I've won with him in ranked (so far) im surprised he is not banned a lot. He is most likely gonna get nerfed after worlds so i better make the most of it.

He's a champion similar to heim, illaoi or aurelion sol. He requires you to play differently. He's strong less because of his numbers and more because of the meta.

This meta is dominated by diving champions in 3 positions. Urgot's kit is anti dive in every way just like heim and illaoi. Only he's stronger and more reliable than illaoi. These champions WANT you to engage onto them, because you do the hard part for them (getting into range). But play a passive top lane tank or hyper carry. Pick a ranged champ like donger. or someone who can counter his R like trynd or olad. And just farm. You will outscale him drastically and he'll become an ult bot.

It's like when people face mundo or vlad and don't buy morello or exe calling. They choose not to counter him. Even when doing to is relatively simple in what you have to do (not necessarily easy)

He is fairly reliant on outplays landing his ult at a high rate and knowing when to use his E as an all in and when to hold it as an escape doing flash+abilities and such. If you play a clean game with him you can dominate most top laners and even if you don't he isn't hard to break even with. The issue is most of his team fighting value comes from his execute which is easily body blocked and hitting the aoe fear as opposed to top laners like Sion or Ornn who have more forms of CC that are easier to land.

Urgot tends to win most lanes, but he's not op. He falls behind easily late game and has a non-existent role in teamfights.

Cut into his base AD to make his passive cooldown an actual resource. It's ridiculous how easily he can last hit 30% health minions well before buying even an advanced item.

I haven't played him much, but I have usually dominated pretty hard. He is another champ that can go very tanky and do tons of damage with only 1 offensive item. I don't think it is a unique problem to him though. He just excels vs other tanky champs because he can execute once you both get low, and if you have a good rotation with his legs you can get them low fast.

Idk why people realized this just now Urgot was OP since his rework , I remember in season 7 with the old runes system he was 1v3 my team the whole time , and people asked for nerfs , but suddenly he came unpopular and this " top lane doesn't matter " ,mentality and haven't seen him a lot since then in adc meta And then suddenly he is pick or ban in korea pro play and Nerfs were coming but suddenly 90% of boards users asked flamed Riot and said it's not Riot fault and now Urogot is another victim and now suddenly themselves asking for Urgot nerfs after becoming popular in all elos xD what a funny world we live in

As a person who recently got M7 on Urgot , in silver rank (average player) here is my opinion.

He is very strong, and he thrives of opponents not knowing how to fight him.

If you are a good Urgot player yourself, you know what to expect, and it is not so bad.

He can't dash 5 times, or teleport, or any weird shit.

He is slow, and lumbering, and his little dash is actually easy to miss.

Again, VERY strong, but you CAN outplay him.

I think he is S tier, but not broken.

I make him cry and want to ragequit when I go Taric top. His hit box is too big and he is too slow to dodge my stun.

I think it depends on the player playing the champion. Because let me tell you that every time I say they pick urgot I go illaoi and 90% of the times I rek him.
