Riot - Your match making during series promotion is absolute garbage. The worst, troll players always find their way during promo to ruin the game.

They lose money with the bad matchmaking. I would spend a thousand dollars on my account if I thought it was worth it.

I am starting to look at the chroma skins, but then I remmeber the account will never be much of anything.

Exxample: 20 win streak and hit silver mmr from bronze, then 20 lose streak back to bronze mmr, no thank you.

The matchmaking for promos is no different than matchmaking anywhere else. You just notice "bad" matchmaking in promos more often.

Agreed, it has to do with the 50% win rate. Riot: "Oh your good but you can't be too good!"

50% winrate is a bit of a myth. Riot doesn't "punish" you for doing better, it's just how it ends up because that's how it inherently goes with all pvp games that have any half-decent MMR system. The better you do, the better the system assumes you are, so you get a higher MMR, meaning tougher opponents, meaning eventually you'll hit one too high.

They could do a bit better to make it so that there's less of a range of MMR even with equal averages, though.

What u get is a bunch of inting early then the players that inted spend the rest of the time covering their tracks.

I said a bit of a myth.

The myth part of it is that Riot "forces" you to have a 50% winrate. The actuality is that 50% winrate is what any MMR system worth paying a coder to make will inherently work towards.

You hit 50% winrate because you're matched against people of your skill, not because Riot shoves shit teams down your throat until you hit 50%.

Why even play ranked? If all Riot is going to do is have you win and lose the same amounts. I have talked to multiple people now, everyone has had bad experiences in promos.

That's not how it works.

What happens is that you naturally fall to a 50% winrate over time, due to the way any half-decent MMR system would work.

If you win above 50%, you're evidently more skilled than the people you're against, so the system matches you higher. If you're losing more than 50%, you're evidently less skilled than the people you're against, so it matches you lower. This is done to create fair matchmaking, because otherwise you'd end up either constantly getting stomped due to being shit compared to everyone else, or constantly stomping because everyone else is shit compared to you.

This is a good example. Every time I start closing the gap and shrinking the lose to win ratio, it does the same thing over and over and over. 20 game win 20 game lose.

80% Winrate back down to 30% win rate, then back up to 80% Winrate, and then back down to 30%. Same thing everyweek.

My first month of playing League before ranked was unlocked, I had a Plat II MMR. I cannot imagine what I really am now.

I can carry 3v5 and win, some of the time. I can even get perfect KDA's with an entire team that feeds. I have learned a ton from my ranked journey, but every week is the same thing, win 20 lose 20.
