How to pick a main?

I've been playing League of Legends since the end of season 2. I've reached Gold 2 but I don't have a main role or main champion.

I'm decent on a lot of Champions but I get bored so I have never fully learnt a champion or their limitations etc. My game knowledge is immense but my mechanics is lacking and I think this is because I have not taken the time to play the same champion over and over, any ideas? What is the most rewarding?

My play style is usually play making, I prefer to have an effect on the game rather than let my team carry me and do everything for me.

Whichever champ you really enjoy playing. Perhaps pick 2 or three to rotate through.

Eh, I've been there myself.

Personally, I prefer maintaining a pool of champions in each role I play (roughly 3-6 champions). When I have to pick one to play, I will choose depending on the situation and personal preference at that time.

While I'm not quite as familiar with any specific champion as a OTP, I find the added versatility and variety suit me far better.

Ironically, it's usually the supports doing a lot of play making via intiations and peeling. Supports do a lot of play making :3

Just find a champ you really love to play. Some people main champs because of the champ's identity and lore. If you are really indecisive then roll a die :D

Main whatever is meta then. Clearly in all this time you haven't been drawn to a specific champ. And you get bored. Right now, play Camille/Riven/Lee Sin. Once they get nerfed or another OP of the week comes, play that.

just main the champion that you really enjoy playing and cant see yourself getting tired of playing them, me personally i can literally play zed everyday all day because i just love the character, his lore, kit and skins and i wanna give a big fat kiss to who ever designed him

I felt this way about Azir until they nerfed him nonstop. I main Kayle now and while I eventually played more games on her than Azir, I must admit, as much as I enjoy playing her, I never enjoyed her or any other champion as much as I enjoyed Azir.

You can only main if you find a champion you never get bored of playing. It can take a long time to find that champion and sometimes it's a champion you've played before but for some reason or another you didn't click with them the first time around.
