Honest new jungle opinions
When the new jungle was announced, I followed it, played it on PBE, and raged about how my current main jungler, Kha'zix, was super weak. Upon doing more playing in the jungle, watching other people playing in the jungle, and just overall getting more experience with it, I actually have a better opinion of it. It's good, well, not just good, it's amazing, for a few reasons.
First, I started jungling back during season 2, and back then the jungle meta was much more focused on supporty-tanky junglers as opposed to the bunch of brawler/fighter junglers who were dominate in season 4. This new jungle somewhat brings those junglers back because the juggernaut enhancement is actually good, and is basically just the Ancient golem from season 2/ early season 3.
Second, there is actually a good amount of variety involved in the jungle now, because there are so many options. It is still possible to go for a weak early-strong late fighter style jungler, but you have to be aware that until level 5-6, you are going to be super weak because the new jungle will beat a Kha or a rengar into the ground if not played properly.
Finally, it will make it easier for those of us who actually main jungle to get jungle because it is so much more difficult early, and people who have played more games in the jungle with a vast number of champions over a long period of time will be able to bring back old junglers who were less effective for various reasons and become dominant with them again.
In all, I think that Riot actually did us a favor with the new jungle, and made it better for those of us who actually jungle all the time, because before it was just stale and boring.
Oh, before I forget, Riot did manage to screw up one thing, Dragon. The new buff on that is so useless after the first buff until you get the fifth.
TL,DR: Riot made the jungle into something which all of us cranky jungle mains can actually thrive in again, since people who don't actually jungle will probably not want to do it because it's difficult.
