Time To Change Fiddlesticks?

I've been playing Fiddles consistently since Season 2 and in light of recent balance changes (nerfs) I don't make an effort to play him anymore. Here's why: Season 3; 33/17, Season 4; 93/63, Season 5; 14/16. My primary grievance is with fear it is counter intuitive to Fiddlestick's entire kit. Fear moves champs out of range of drain and more importantly your ultimate. A lot people would say "position yourself so fear moves your enemy into your team" this is ridiculous this opportunity is rare at best and hardly accounts for changes made to fear. Once you ult on the enemy carry your fear is going to move them out of your ult and once the duration ends they are free to retreat to safe distance if you are not already forced to hourglass by the time the other team starts attacking you. I'll admit the ult, drain, fear combo left little room for counter play, but if Fiddles ults on your carry you've already failed to take appropriate measures. Since warding has been made easier it's even more difficult to find good ulting opportunities. These changes have effectively sapped Fiddle's solo-queue potential (at the gold-plat level at least) into relying on team follow up or initiation to make your ultimate count. Crow storm is no longer a death sentence for carries and other champs can fill the assassin/aoe role without having to deal with tedious mechanics. Tank meta also makes your ultimate useless if your not ulting carries.
