Fix your match making

You wonder why people rage quit and are negative, and you think that punishing them more is going to fix that. Riot can fix a big portion of this by not making the games one sided before they even start. When you put me in a game against plats and diamonds, I'm more likely to rage quit than if I'm against other people actually my skill level.Its just not fun and I'm not going to endure through it. You might say that I'm ruining other people game play, well no, riot has ruined mine before the game has even started. So stop trying to blame the community, you can never stop people from behaving bad, but you can not give them a reason to. Fix your match making system.

Indeed, I've wondered why I'm matched with ranked (gold, plat, diamond) when I had just reached level 30 recently and have never played any ranked games at all, ever. Seems also that these highly ranked players are usually much much more toxic than us newer players, as well. Can I please be matched with players that are reasonably close to my skill and experience level for normal, teambuilder games?

To an extent, I understand what you're saying, but if you're like me and others, I use normals as a way to get better. Getting your ass kicks makes you think of what you're doing wrong,and if you're not against a smug cocky prick, he might even give you some tips to make you more lethal over time. I am currently Gold 1, but in normals, I play against Plats to even challenger. Literally the other day, I played vs YellowAznGuy and UssopTheBrave. And yeah, I definitely lost that game, but I had some fun and didn't take it too seriously. And there are also those times when I play so well that I carry my team vs diamond 1-3s with good rotations and decision making. Cheer up, it works out in the end.

I never feel the need to rage quit personally, but I am confused over Riot's matchmaking system recently. Normally I get matched with gold and silver players, with the occasional plat, and that is balanced by the players on my side. But I have had quite a few games where one team has at least one plat, while the other team has nothing higher than silver.

I know ranked and normals MMR is different, but I am a little skeptical that Riot can't create a more fair way to calculate relative skill levels.

See i Dont agree but i do agree here. If that makes sense haha. The provisional placement sysem is whats to blame here. not matchmaking in general. Silver has become the new real bronze. While bronze has some seasoned ppl who do deserve to move up.

My point here is, Im currently silver. In no way do i blame anyone for my rank. Its mine. I earned it. Its just frustrating at times when you clearly look teammates up who have 3 wins 7 losses 10 ranked games total and get placd in mid silver.

I remember when if you lost that many games, your going to bronze 4 or 5. not silver. I personally went 7/3 last season in provisionals and carried 6 of those games very hard. and only got silver 3. while i see ppl some how go around 3/7 4/6 getting it as well.

if anything, 2 additional tiers need to be added. to allow for true climbing o players who practice and actually make the effort to learn the game, while not being stuck with the new guy who has no clue of champions abilities, dps outputs, warding, roaming, last hitting, etc etc etc.
