Why Not Classify Alistar as a Support?

Honestly, Riot's made him essentially irrelevant in every other role. I don't really see why he can't be allowed to have strengths in other places (i.e. nerfing his passive in the jungle) when there were still champions stronger than him in those roles, and plenty of counter play. So why only classify him as a tank?

Because just playing botlane doesn't actually make you a support. Supports are champs that sacrifice some of their power for others. Alistars heal is more for himself.

And he does have strength in other areas. They only had to nerf his jungle clear, because his ganks are so ridiculous. Also he never falls off, far from irrelevant.

And just because he is no longer considered OP, doesn't mean he is suddenly bad in toplane.
