League is NOT a fun game.

I just read a post before creating this one ironically, that was was the most fun that i have had in 6-7 hours with any relation to this game. To clarify someone said this game was fun and i literally could not stop laughing with tears rolling down my face. Back on topic, I'm beyond tired of people guilty of the following: 1> Not understanding the game, even on a basic level then joining ranked games and either saying any type of communication you use to help improve their play, teamwork, or etc. is toxic behavior OR just flaming you for not carrying them with 0 effort on their part. 2> People intentionally feeding, trolling, AFKing etc. specifically to ruin others experience and further laughing about how there's no consequence. (which is sadly true)

I just played 2 outright unwinnable games with a third game following in which my chances for winning were absurdly low before even 20 minutes had gone by where I busted my ASS at said 20 minute mark to get 2 of my teammates outer tower credit and take the 3rd outer in the top lane with the help of minions myself within a span of 2 minutes thanks to a mistake on the opposing teams behalf. However, all this did was close some of the gold lead so that i could spend another 25 minutes in this game only to lose because i was the only person keeping waves pushing and every fight that i was not at resulted in loss of multiple members of our team. It's to the point where I'm spending more time writing reports on teammates than time in queue.(dumb on my part being as riot does nothing about these people.) So I sat for a bit and thought about it, and came to the conclusion that this game is not fun. it's not competitive. it's not balanced. and claims about fair matchmaking are lies lacking credence.

I'm putting consideration into uninstalling league, it's a really negative experience, and the amount of others I'm seeing on these boards and other places saying the same is quite concerning. Feel free to vote on the poll or contribute your own experience.

You do understand that fun is subjective right? Like, it's entirely possible that what you find 'unfun' other people may find 'fun'. You cannot expect to state, as an objective fact, something is not fun and be expected to be taken seriously.

I am of the mind that while the specifics of how one has fun may differ, the reason why we have fun is quite similar amongst all of us playing.

Therefore, once we have idientified the why something is fun, we can objectively determine whether something is indeed fun or not.

And League's fun meter has declined a lot recently. Though not necessarily for the reasons everyone thinks.

Not in regards to something as complex as league. Hell even something as straight forward as being flogged, or kicked in the balls, some would consider fun. I consider them insane (albiet they are likely not) but this is true. With 7 billion people on Earth its nigh impossible to find anything which doesn't have some sub culture that believes it to be fun.

I'm not saying that people would or would not find playing League objectively fun. League is the specifics.

What I am saying, though, is that, at the very core, the reason people who have fun playing League have fun doing so is exactly the same as the reason why people who have fun playing soccer have fun doing so.

Just at the very core.

Also what I'm saying is that, like you said, League is complex. So while providing this fun to many different people by many different means, League has stopped being able to provide this objective fun to a still-growing (albeit, quite slowly growing) amount of players.

Actually. (aside from the new IE changes) I am slowly feeling like league is getting fun again. I completely quit playing for 3-4 months in November/December and started playing again after conqueror was released. The game is so much better then what it was in December it's like playing a completely different game.

That is my subjective opinion.

It's not your opinion. It's a fact. ;v

That means they already solve the problem pertaining those who find fun like you. I'm just saying that there's a lot of simple things Riot can do to better provide the fun part to more players.

Lately I've been seeing that many in the playerbase have been, or at elas have been feeling alienated from League, myself included. Not all of course. And the weird thing is that they'll often blame this and those changes that happened recently, while I'm certain that the whole "League is dying" phenomenon (while a little overblown, should by no means be taken lightly, whatsoever) is the result of long standing imperfections that have not been adressed.

Now there is a variety of reasons why the game is slowly decaying, but the one Riot should be focusing on is reducing player frustration. And this includes some quite simple but radical changes to several gameplay mechanics, class roles update, and building a completely new honor and report systems. Otherwise, I'm sure that League will slowly but undoubtedly perish.
