@Meddler , about Riven .. (honest questions)

Could you please enlighten us on and what you guys think about her?

Im not the guy to ask for Buffs since thats just pointless but Riven was a champion designed to be a lane bully and be able to punish mistakes really difficult. Now with the release of the new Champions its really hard to do so. There are champions that do the exact same stuff that Riven does but just way better. It has become way harder for her to shine in soloQ and in competitive while the likes of Jayce, Fiora, Camille etc are able to be picked because of their kits. Riven has a rough time dealing with mega tanks for example while champions like Irelia etc can deal with them because of the true damage on their kits.

1 thing that has also affected Rivens winrate or in general her powerspike were the Black Cleaver changes you guys made in order to help Bruisers/Juggernauts in the meta. Unfortunatly, we dont really see much of these type of Champions and yet there hasnt been done anything about it. The current buildpath really delays Rivens ability to 1v1 a Tank who goes even or just a bit ahead of her due to the fact that they can just rush the armor items where Riven heavily relys on CDR which leads to my next point: CDR

Riven always was one of the, if not the only, champion to use CDR Runes back then in order to get the 40-45% CDR spike. with the old runes gone, Riven has to use the sorcery rune no matter what to not waste itemslots. Sure there are some that use the ressolve tree but sacrifice an item slot for the extra sustain in lane. Could you enlighten us about the upcoming changes in preseason to the runes and if there will be something similar to that?

From what i can remember when i entered the scene in 5.22 and picked up Riven in 5.23, she used to be a lane bully and start snowballing from there. it has since then changed ofcourse because of some item champions but more because of the released champions. Sure the Matchups like Fiora, Camille, Irelia are more skill based but Irelia can heavily beat Riven with her ult and champions like Aatrox, Urgot and Ornn are really hard to deal with.

I really would appreciate if you could answer me or just come and visit us at the subreddit /r/rivenmains since there are many people who just dont know what to do now or how to even approach Riven as a new player.

She is supposed to be a high risk high reward champion but now she is just high risk to pick.
