Riot Employees Make Gameplay Polls and Q&As?

Couldn't Riot be able to make a poll for certain problems people find and see if it is bad enough that it needs to get changed?

I feel like instead of having hundreds and hundreds of comments about all the things wrong with the game and only finding some valid, couldn't Riot themselves make the poll of the most problematic issues and see how the up votes and down votes go and what the commentary is like?

I don't know, personally I think that would be much easier than having to read all these comments only to find a few valid points and then reading the rest as trolling or memes...which I like don't get me wrong, its pretty funny ( the memes, not the trolling, so cut it OUT! ) but I would like to have a Q&A with Riot and see how their perspective is on certain things like, the amount of damage in the game, what they think about prestige prices, etc etc.

An honest genuine talk to clear the waters, because right now they are the ones in control of everything, as much as i love the moderators on the boards and all the amazing work they do to make sure everyones most important questions get answered, I would like to hear it directly from Riot!

I know they sometimes answer the questions through the patch notes and etc, but I want it to be more of a deeper response..It has more value to me and I am sure it would to everyone else!

That's just the thing, though. It's only a few hundred, maybe a thousand people that complain about the issues publicly. If it were polled on the Boards or even Reddit, it'd be too small of a sample size because only a fraction of the 30m~ players use the forums which is nowhere close to the whole community.

If they did forced polling (like making a popup on the client) that probably wouldn't work well because it would be a combination of:

  • People voting because they're mad and don't actually want to look at statistics (people who hate Yasuo but don't want him to be balanced, just want him gutted or removed)
  • People voting randomly just to get the poll off of their screen (people who don't care about results or state of the polled issues)
  • People who vote to benefit themselves (nerfing their champion counters or unfun matchups) (etc.)

It just wouldn't be a healthy way to decide things relating to the state of the game. It works for smaller communities like Jagex with Runescape because they're so small and almost everyone is affected by every change. It probably wouldn't work well for a large game like League.
