How to carry these games?

So, I'm a little tilted after this last game, which was almost like one of the games I played before it I need tips to how can I use my advantage to win, when my team never listens. There was more than 5 chance to finish the game, but no, better do something else. 17/0 Varus, enemy adc was 2 q And they still won because of 2 things: jayce - the champ, not the player 5man focus on me, after they got a few "free kill" How can you carry this? If the enemy knows what they are doing they can come back, if your team don't. I just don't get it

This isn't completely related, but this is why I prefer Jhin over Varus. It might be because I'm better at Jhin than Varus, but when I have a team full of potatoes I feel like I have an easier time carrying them with Jhin.

His engage tools, objective control, and sheer idiotic damage output late game, it just feels like I have more control and can do a lot more with my lead than I can with Varus.

Fed Jayce, actually even just not super behind Jayce, is always going to be a nightmare, but with Jhin I'm often far enough back it doesn't matter that much.
