Backdoor Protection/Base Turret Buffs/Comeback Mechanics

Backdoor protection needs to be added to the game immediately. Buildings should need minions nearby in order to be damaged, since otherwise you can wind up playing against a team that is really bad, but they can just teleport into your base and kill your nexus without any minions nearby for no reason. It's incredibly unfun to play against, and super unsportsmanlike to do. It doesn't fit the spirit of the game, and needs to be fixed.

In addition, base turrets as they are now are completely useless, especially late game. They don't do nearly enough damage to anything, and are basically just minor annoyances to champions. They need to be buffed heavily to help prevent split pushing and backdooring.

Also, as it stands currently, there are no comeback mechanics implemented in the game, meaning that if you have a team of champions that benefit heavily from late game play, but are up against a team of champions that stomp really heavily early game, there's no mechanics to enable your team to make a comeback and potentially win. This makes games unfun to play against if you end up losing, and creates toxicity among players on a team who feel that they can't possibly win a game and need to surrender, but are unable to. Homeguard is already a form of comeback mechanic, but it kicks in far too late. It should kick for a team once one or more of their outer turrets are destroyed, allowing for faster responses to base turret and inhibitor defense, as in many games teams are able to push down to inhibitors before the 20 minute mark.

League of Legends can be a really fun game under the right circumstances, but as it stands there isn't enough in the game to help out teams that are losing, enabling for more comebacks and better games for everyone involved.

Said it years ago, the tower nerfs were too harsh; yet riot did it anyway and continued to stack up more problems out of spite. The game as it stands isn't nearly as fun as it used to be for either party; the winning team is bored from being able to 1-shot everything, while the loosing team is frustrated from burning entire combos just to clear a minion wave. The team that's ahead feels like everything has been handed to them; but the team that's behind feels like they can never make any progress. Between the cripplingly long death-timers, and excessive gold gains from flash-paper towers, burst damage & spamable mobility being constantly used without detrimental cost; it's no wonder games are decided 5 minutes in, or from a 3 second teamfight. The snowballing is a massive understatement, it's more like an avalanche with how stilted games spiral out of control.

Why doesn't it? I don't agree, you just say it out of nowhere. They can teleport into your base if you don't put some pinks into your base and clear vision. It's logical that you should be careful about backdoors if you lost every turret on a lane including nexus ones. Backdoors are what allow a bunch of splitpushers to be viable, you remove that, you absolutely kill them.

Yes. No. Let me get that clear for you. You probably got backdoored because you were careless, etc. But with the meta right now, splitpush isn't in a great place at all. People just put ZZ'rots to get lanes pushing and they go in teamfights, literally. Splitpush is actually kinda bad. If you think splitpush is too strong, you must not be in very high elo. -checking- Bronze IV, ok Turrets need to be buffed because it's too easy to dive and the laneswaps are too metagame in competitive.

??? The whole goal of having a late game team is having champions that scale better, this is automatic comeback. Like, they have better stats lategame because they are stronger. At one point, they'll just end up winning fights, it's as simple as that. The whole point of an earlygame team is to snowball enough to stay ahead and finish before they get outscaled. And just a thing, think about it a bit. If you want every lategame team to become stronger than earlygame teams at one point, no matter how much the earlygame teams win, and you prevent splitting and only allow big 5 on 5 teamfights, there's gonna be only one kind of comp that is good, lategame teamfight comps. All the rest suddenly becomes garbage.

Also, there is the bounty system that actually allows comebacks. A fed guy wiill get shut down and give more gold than he would've if he wasn't. If that's not a comeback mechanic, I don't know what is.

Yes, and that's the point. Split pushing is unfun to play against, and unfun to play. It shouldn't be a part of the game at all. It's also difficult to buy pinks during late game when you're full-slotted and have no place to store items or place them so you can purchase a pink ward. There used to be a trinket for pink wards but Riot removed it because....uh......limited design space...?

Oh so now my opinions don't matter because my rank is really low, ok. I got placed in Bronze IV with a 70% winrate on my placement matches because the rankings system makes no sense. Maybe it was because I got shoved into B3 last season by the LP system giving me fewer LP for a win than I'd lose for a loss. Either way:

{quoted}Splitpush is actually kinda bad.

Yes, it is, but with the way the game's designed right now and with how some champions are designed, it makes responding to split pushing way too difficult.

{quoted}Turrets need to be buffed because it's too easy to dive and the laneswaps are too metagame in competitive.

Outer turrets need to be buffed because it's too easy to dive, but base turrets need to be buffed because they have too much difficulty holding off minion waves, let alone dealing with champions. They just don't do enough damage, and to top it all off Riot still hasn't fixed the audio bug with them.

Yes, but the issue is that if you lose all your turrets early game, no matter how hard you're able to beat down the enemy team, they can just teleport in behind you and kill your inhibitor(s)/nexus without any minions or anything nearby. At that point, it no longer matters how good your team comp is late-game. This problem is especially apparent on champions like Tryndamere, who aren't in a good place right now in general, but have an ult that makes them unkillable for long enough that they can kill your nexus without being shut down.

Right, I forgot about the bounty mechanic because it's so terrible it may as well not even be in the game to begin with. I once shut down a 28 kill killing spree and the bonus gold was 400. It's literally a joke at that point. Shutting down someone with that large of a killing spree should give at the least 2k gold. The amount of money you gain by shutting down champions is so negligible, it's not anywhere near enough to enable teams to come back from anything.
