broken placements?

i curious how riot calculates these placements. i was gold 3 with 50 points going into placements, went 5w 5L and was placed silver 2.....how does that work? also 2 of my placement matches had afk's....

Placements this season are a joke, even more so than previous seasons. I went from gold to bronze, and now its nearly impossible to win a game because the people i get matched with do their best to not win the game, if they even show up to the game at all.

MMR from previous season + MMR from pre-season + placement matches = Your current placement.

Exact same thing happened to me, gold 3 to silver 2, went 5-5 in placements, played against and with low diamonds and high plats in 8 of the 10, had an average kda of 7/4/8, and had 3 4v5 matches cause I had an afk on my team in each......

I'm not sure anything Riot can say atm would make any sense besides "yeah we f*cked up!"

i went 3-7, was silver 3 last year. I was on teams finishing with things like 11-2-15 while the rest of my team had double digit deaths. I was often the only person on the team finishing positive. The games i won i carried with scores like 15-2-11, 16-1-10. I got Bronze IV..... Season 3 I was silver IV and at the start of season 4 went 8/10 in placements and got Bronze III....This is the 2nd year in a row. It is a massive waste of my time to try to rank up in bronze. Every other game has leavers, feeders etc. It took me about 3 weeks of hardcore playing to get to silver V placements and 3 of my 5 matches had dc's. So i had to go at it again. Just wtf Riot.

Was Plat 3, lost every placement game, got gold 4, its all about your MMR

If you really think you aren't Silver 2, then quit complaining and climb back up to Gold 3. Shouldn't be that hard if you're still at least as good as you were last season.

Season 4 I went 7-3 and got silver 3(ended season 3 at silver 3), Season 4 I ended with gold 5, 0 lp and went 7-3 in provisionals and got gold 5. I'm pretty happy with it :)

7/3 placements bronze 5 ... i did great in all matches good kda high ward placement good cs. everything i could have done i did and i get bronze 5. is this a joke?
