I'm a platinum player and playing Xin Zhao in the top lane is my favorite role since Season 2. I think he is a very simple and basic champion that can't be really balanced in his current state because his kit is just based on auto-attacking and and buffing his auto-attacking capabilities. I like these auto-attacking aspects, but I'd like to make him a little more of a caster, so he can also be a champion that can "make plays". These reworks can be changed slightly and will not include many numbers because I prob wouldn't make it balanced with numbers anyways.
PASSIVE: Gain +5% lifesteal (or heal for all damage dealt) for every enemy champion within a certain amount of radius from you.
Q: This would be similar to casting Riven's Qs, but would have a significant lower mana cost since he uses mana. It would also reset the auto attack animation. Each Q, will slow the enemy for x amount (the slow could be different for each Q, or the slow can be increased if hit with consecutive Qs, haven't really thought much about this). FIRST Q: would stab for x(+ad ratio) physical damage, SECOND Q: would stab for x physical damage and ignoring y% (or flat) amount of armor, THIRD Q: would stab and do 2*(x(+ad ratio)) in true damage. TLDR: 3 Q's. every Q gets stronger.
W: Haven't really thought of a rework for this, so could possibly keep it with with the reverted attack speed stats (possibly ap ratio stat too since devourer will be removed). This could be the spell that incorporates the auto-attacking side of him. The slow and damage will be in a reverted aoe cone in the direction of the cursor. I also like the crits on every 3rd attack. TLDR: revert changes.
E: I think his current charge is alright, but I'd like to have it be more of a skill shot, so he can have some kind of escape. Can have a similar animation. On hit, enemy champions within a small radius will get slightly knocked back/up. This would also have an ad ratio with it. TLDR: skillshot E with slight knockback.
R: I think his Crescent Sweep isn't really too reliable for him. To incorporate a horse into his kit, like in some of his splash arts, I'd like to have his ult be similar to Quinn's. FIRST cast would call a horse and he'd ride it. A momentum counter will then be used. If R is casted before reaching x momentum, he will get off and spin his spear in a small aoe circle in physical damage. If casted after reaching x momentum, the horse will jump toward cursor. When it lands, it'll do a medium aoe knockup in physical damage, and the horse will disappear. TLDR: horsey goes vroom vroom.
Overall: I think the cooldowns of his basic spells should be slightly lowered because his Q's would no longer reduce the cooldown of his other spells, and his ult can be on high cooldown, since it is used to for map pressure.
