I feel like there should be some kind of super casual "no rules" que.

I like this game but there is still one big problem I have with it - people take it wayyyyyyyyy to seriously.

Like all people want to do is want to win at all cost and if that doesn't happen they get something close to a mental breakdown. They don't treat it as a fun passtime video game but as some kind of super tournament where if they will lose it will mean the end of the freaking world.

I can kind of get where they are coming from, having a competitive mindset and being a sweaty tryhard can be fun, I also like to do it from time to time but most of the time I don't want to be bound by anything and just goof around like an idiot, without people collectively losing their shit.

At this point I want to draw a comparison to TF2. While it has it's own fair share of problems and is a much different game from LoL, I think they are getting casual gaming right whereas League really does not.

For the most time of it's existence after it became free2play it was super casual. Yes, you COULD tryhard and do whatever it takes to win and achieve the main objective but in most cases people would just go onto a public server and do what is fun - killing people without any care for the world, trying to get "taunt kills" which are absolutely not necessariy but super fun, or try fun builds that are not necessarily effective but well, fun, like one weapon loadout allowing you to fly through the air just to land on people and bludgeon them to death with a frying pan. That goofy careless aspect is what draws me to TF2 to this day.

If you want to that kind of shit in LoL, you're going to have a bad time. I'm going to be honest, I really don't care all that much about getting towers, blowing up the Nexus, grouping up with my team or being super strategic like you are supposed to every single game. As I said, it can be fun, don't get me wrong but from time to time I feel like all these rules imposed on me are just super stressful and work against me having a good gaming experience.

This is where a casual gamemode without any rules imposed on you would come in handy, similar to public servers on TF2. It would basically just be Blind Pick but without reports, codes to follow, ranks or anything else that will affect you long term and force you to specifically do something. The honor system would also be excluded from this.

You want to have a race to the most deaths per minute with your friend for funsies? You want to play crit Gragas without any set lane without getting banned for it or flamed by your teammates, just because you like the headbutt crit animation? You want to blow off some steam when getting home from work without any penalties? You want to actually play a game when you come home from work that doesn't just feel like MORE work? You don't care about winning, teaming, getting objectives and all that stuff and you just want to have a goofy happy fun time? That would be the place to do it.

The only thing I really thought of that might ruin this is maybe toxicity in this game but in the end I realized that all this toxicity stems exactly from the competitiveness of League to begin with. Since everyone is a tryhard because you HAVE to be one, losing even though you try your best or teammates not behaving in the way you want to and just tying all your enjoyment to your success in League is what causing toxicity in the first place.

If we come back to TF2 for example - we rarely have that problem. No one cares about all that and it's much harder to get mad in TF2 than it is in LoL. The only people who actually get mad are the tryhards, because of the reasons stated above. Even with flaming being unpunishable in this specific casual que, I feel like people would actually be much less toxic to begin with - and IF someone would behave toxic for some reason, you wouldn't really care but actually find it to be a lot of fun instead, simply because negative behaviour from other players doesn't really make a lot of difference - it's not like you are trying to achieve anything anyway in the first place. Heck, TF2 even has voice chat and it's still much less toxic than League.

I'm not saying that I want League to suddenly become super casual because it's so much better than the competitive game that it is right now, I just want to have the option of doing whatever the hell I want and have a casual experience with it, besides the competitve experience we already have. Because right now I think that this is straight out impossible with this game.

Sorry if I went on a little bit of a rant here but I had to get it off my chest. I doubt any devs will see this but at least we players can have a nice discussion about it. I think we all have that super competitve must-win mentality so ingrained into our mindset that everything else hasn't even been conceived off yet, so I thought it to be necessary to share my thoughts on the topic, even if they don't reach a lot of people.
