BARDS STUPID PASSIVE IS DESTRUCTIVE

I recently had a game as bard support, because i got to try him out in an ARAM and i thought holy shit his passive is nice, let me try him out in the summoners rift. Started with these thoughts i was going in with a thought of having a really decent and nice game. As the game progressed the chimes (Bards passive boosters) Kept popping up in these ridiculous places, mind. Bard is a Bot-lane, Support. And these chimes popped up in toplane enemy jungler territory enemy midlane territory and sometimes straight up near enemy towers. 90% of the times these chimes popped up everywhere else other than actual botlane. This is highly, super counter intuitive because i was forced to roam to enemy top jungle area, to enemy mid lane area to botlane enemy jungle area in many of the cases i was mere fodder for anyone i would have gotten across. Not to mention leaving behind my adc to be killed alone 1v2 and our bot tower to be destroyed. Fix his stupid passive chime spawn locations so they are actually relevant to the botlane game so i dont have to leave adc and turret alone to go feed everywhere. Really stupidly counter intuitive

He's designed to roam very effectively, but if you can't afford to leave lane yet, don't. It's okay to let risky chimes stay up for a while, or even expire if they are really far where you can't go. Don't worry about the ones you can't get.

exactly this.

Too many times ive seen bards overextend/ underleved (realy badly) because they prioritize chimes over the lane

(and I'm guilty of making the same mistake as well)

All supports are encouraged to roam, but Bard actually IS the roaming support... soooo...

The shrines, E, and chime movement speed all help you roam. Also, you're not supposed to always go collect chimes. You can wait for a bunch to spawn to save time and get more experience.

To add to everyone's explanation of Bard being a roaming support...

It is technically a PASSIVE. The more it stacks the better it is, yes, but you shouldn't be prioritizing it over the rest of your gameplay as Bard. Kind of like Singed Passive, you CAN build for it, but its better to do an optimal build and let his passive just be a bonus.

here is my advice to you: if you want to sit on your ADC and babysit, bard is not the champion for you.

He is a roaming support...

I always thought they spawn somewhat far but relative to where you are at the time? Either case it's meant to promote roaming and you shouldn't be roaming into enemy territory without vision. The idea is to not leave your lamer alone when he's pushed into tower, roam when he backs or you have lane priority.

The passive is a little feast or famine since if you get smashed in lane it'll be hard to recover the ones on enemy territory but if you're able to wander freely which you can only do if ahead you gain significant power without the need of damage items

They spawn over the map, but focus on nearby where you are currently when they spawn. They should concentrate on your half of the map, but if you ever roam, they will spawn up like you're seeing.
