Competitive Vayne
So this is the thing. Historically, Vayne shows infantiles the meta only when the AD carry role is in a really bad state and there aren't any poke supports. She has a big problem since has low range and no wave clear at all. Right now we're able to see mostly two types of carrys: -Rageblade -Triple crit
The problem is that Vayne's kit is oriented to an attackspeed build, she has only one ability that doesn't interact with her autoattacks, the problem is that since botrk doesn't give as much stats as it use to be, with also the fact that other adc's start building I.E instead of B.T, she just can't use her old build path without getting punished. Other adc's like Varus or Log are able to rush the rageblade (Vayne did too during her worlds appearance) so it should be the good item for her,the problem is that even on those two building the explosive wand is akward, and I get it, it's the price to pay for that insane item. The difference is that Vayne just cannot use it, and she's forced into this threshold where you absolutely need to get 1725 gold to get the item or back and buy a 850 item that literally has no use for your champion.
This means that Vayne is forced into the other buildpath, the triple crit. This is a hug problem for her balancing. It's ok to loose lane as Vayne, she's the most mobile and lethal hypercarry there is. The problem is that only a few adc's have autoattack resets, and next to Lucian,this two have always been an issue to the balancing team. The reason is that having a reset in a heavy crit based build just feels unfair. Even more for Vayne where on top of the damage itself,there's the w true damage. So this means that once Vayne has 3 ítems, she can just absolutely 3-shot targets below 3000 health even with armor.
If you ask me,the whole adc role needs a shake up, and I realize that is really hard,when the champions in that role are just supposed to kill everyone,to be a glass cannon. And when you want that you pretty much pick the most op items. But until the role as a whole gets a change I have these few ideas for Vayne.
The goal of this ideas is to orient the buildpath towards the rageblade:
-Undo the attackspeed growth nerf that was done a few patches ago,(it didn't really affect her for the triple crit build, but it does a huge difference to the rageblade build.) -Give an AP instead of AD ratio to her E. This way the 850 cost of the magic wand won't feel like you're just wasting gold that could have been used to upgrade boots. It can't be abusable since the mana cost and cd are too high,plus it's the last ability to level up. (if it becomes an issue,you can just give the extra so ratio if she condemns the target into a wall) -Completely take away the AD of her ultrasound and just give her attackspeed. This just would fit better to the ultrasound change where the duration gets extended by kills or assists. Like I said, this way you would encourage a does hypercarry gameplay instead of the 3 shot one.
