2 year old topic about Teemo, still true (or not?)
i have seen a topic about teemo some minutes ago which is over 2 years old. https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/sWeAAdaW-i-am-quitting-teemo
many things changed over the years, but one comment under this topic says everything which is wrong with teemo, even if its 2 years old. (My english is not the best)
I have over 1 million mastery points on
and this season I quit playing him completely. I played him because he was a tank shredder, splitpusher, and objective/vision controller. Not because I want to make other people mad or because I have no skills to play other champions. Now, his simple kit feels outdated and unviable. He does not have the tools to compete with the more modern champions. His kit is does not give you the ability to outplay opponents. I thought I could carry games through good game knowledge and decision making alone, but that doesn't work in this season. This are the problems with teemo:
-His passive is irrelevant because the game has become more team fight oriented -His Q blind effect is not significant enough, most champs can still kill you without autoing you -His W does not provide mobility on the same level as new mobile champions, he is now considered immobile -His E makes him reliant on auto attacks, which require him to need peel. His poison damage is not strong enough to get through all the new shields. -His traps, his ultimate ability and main form of damage, are not a reliable form of damage in a teamfight, can be cleared with sweeper
-He does not have a clear identity, he is a mix of mage, marksman, and assassin elements. He is single target, right click reliant, immobile, and has little burst. In this season, this results in a champion who has a weak early game, poor teamfight, and more recently, poor laning phase due to being an easy target for ganks. -His playstyle and ability usage are predictable, non-interactive, and repetitive. -His damage is undodgeable and has no counterplay, and therefore the champion must be kept weakThis champion is in dire need of a rework. I hope certain key elements of his kit are saved, but he needs significant changes. To be viable he needs a better mobility spell, damage added to his kit that is up front and not single targeted, and to be less reliant on his autos and his traps for damage. He needs a gameplay identity that is unique to the champion, and abilities that work together clearly and cohesively.
Teemo has hard times since years, because all of the problems mentioned by this guy. Just want to see some new opinions to refresh this old topic a bit. :)
