skins banned in pro play
Skins such as as I blitz should be banned from ranked games... if they are banned from pro play, why are they not banned from ranked games... makes no sence

+1. There is no reason those skins shouldnt be fixed.
Really? They've already stated that the reason they ban certain skins in pro play is because in that scenario they can AFFORD to err on the side of caution. There's very little chance of a skin like iBlitz actually creating an advantage for the team it's on, but they don't want pro players to think there is and force themselves to play skins like that because every advantage counts. They can do this in pro play because these people play for money and play 24/7 anyway - they don't mind Riot telling them that when they play competitively, their favourite skin is out of bounds.
This is impossible to compare to ranked because the average player will not pay actual money to play a skin just because there is the tiniest, tiniest chance that the skin will give you an advantageous situation due to lack of clarity on its particles. People play a LOT more ranked than pro players play LCS matches, so they will be genuinely upset if their favourite skin is rendered off-limits permanently and given most people play the game for FUN, being told they can't play a pretty/cool skin because it has a 0.000005% chance of doing something impactful is gonna piss a lot of people off.
This isn't a case of equality and I genuinely cannot believe that people would upvote this sort of thing. Regular players absolutely do not need the same treatment that LCS players get because ranked and competitive play are incomparable. Riot do not even believe that skins like iBlitzcrank can genuinely impact games, they just ban them because they do not want pros to feel forced to use them/feel bad if the enemy uses them because they THINK they'll impact them, and they know the players won't mind if certain skins can't be played in LCS because when they want to have fun they can use those skins in their ranked and normal games anyway, so it's a free win - there is no negative impact. But there is SO MUCH negative impact of banning those skins in ranked games because it's the mode that people play every single day, all year long. And you're telling them a skin they paid money for is something they can only wheel out in normals and ARAMs.
Stop pretending LCS and ranked games are equal. Professional players in LCS teams play TWO competitive games every week on average. The only reason skins are banned in the LCS is because when people play so few games in that format, they don't give a shit if their favourite skin isn't allowed. If Riot banned me from using my favourite skins because someone, somewhere started a rumour that its particles are SLIGHTLY harder to see than those of the other skins for that champion, I'd demand a refund. So would everyone else.

Ranked games are supposed to be competitive. That's the point. If you're just playing for fun, I'm sorry, but stay the Hell out of Ranked. Do normals, they literally exist for fun.
if the sales of Headhunter Nidalee and iBlitz are any indication, people will buy a skin for a potential advantage.
Because it's a video game... LCS has an argument that casual players (everyone that isn't paid to play LoL) don't:
Viewers of all experience should be able to recognize champions easily.
You act like you lose ranked games because blitzcrank is OP in his i-blitz skin... lul?
You do even know why they ban I-Blitz?
You do even know why they ban I-Blitz?
Supposedly they can't see the particles of his spell effects... but he makes a noise and shoots a hook... exaggerated reason. Like pros haven't dodged 1000 blitzcrank qs
Partially. The particle of his Q is way smaller than regular blitzcrank, which makes the hitbox more deceptive than it needs to be. And while yes, pros and regular players have been able to dodge skillshots several times, skillshots will eventually land: I-Blitz just looks like it missed when it didn't.
Sense
id also be fine with them unbanning skins for pro play, I just want equality..
except solo q isnt pro play, pro play is viewed which means not only do the players have to recognize and easily pick up on whats happening so do a lot of other people.
Usually with skins the problem is either faster animation or smaller hit boxes or something in those lines. I don't think that's very hard to fix, but it would still take time and riot doesn't seem to have a lot of it.
So while I think the skins should be normalized, I also believe LCS should not have anything balanced around them. I don't care how "pro" they are, no game should be balanced around the hundreds of pro before the actual player base of millions. So they shouldn't even ban those skins. Just shame them if they do use them.
Then nobody would pay for the skins and riot won't make any income. It's not that hard to figure that out.
Edit: if my I blitz was banned from ranked I would demand a fucking refund which would overhaul the rp purchases because than everyone will ask for refunds.
I'm fine with this, as long as its only advantage-giving skins like iBlitzcrank and his smaller fist, or something that makes a champion smaller, or their animations smaller, or whatever.
Otherwise normal skins should be allowed.
Can anyone give a list of skins banned in pro play?
