A Thread about Winning

The current format of the game is as it is because it's considered the most efficient way to win the match.* Is it really, though?* There have always been strategies that aren't what you'd expect but very effective because it counters an element of the current 'meta', such as Proxy Singed or general backdooring champions and builds.

The topic of this thread is various high-success rate tactics and team comps that you can employ in a group of friend (or random after a lot of validation if it's something you can solo do like proxy singed). This doesn't have to be a 'non-meta' pick, and it can be within the meta, in some cases.

Generally, just share any tactic that people rarely or don't consider that will further the meta which stagnates between updates and seasons, or increase odds of winning.

An example of this would be kill lane bottom lanes which take advantage of disjointed enemy comps that rely on the standard 'adc-support' layout with a late-ganking jungle. A recent one that got a good amount of play was Jarvan IV and Leona.

As a final note before the rest: This may be considered 'cheesing', but I'm not condoning trolling in randoms and I hope you don't do so. Please share strategies, not 'funny ideas'. Please don't flame ideas you disagree with though, it only makes you look like an asshole. Instead, explain why they're wrong or not viable.

Cross-posting in Gameplay & Balance and General Discussion to see which one will be better to post discussions like this in the future.

As a card game player, I'd like to invite the card game terms for "anti meta" and "non meta" into this thread.

For example, in Yugioh, the "Meta" was that of a lot of Special Summon spamming (let's say the League equivalent of mobility creep). The "Anti Meta" introduced was any cards that were especially powerful at locking down Special Summoning and abusing how individually weak those decks are. Anti Meta decks never took over as "The Meta" however, because individually on their own, Anti Meta decks are weak towards anything that didn't fit "The Meta", otherwise known as the "Non meta". These can be the decks that, in a vacuum, are perfectly viable, but generally aren't because Meta decks are more efficient than them (League equivalent of non mobiles vs mobiles).

I kinda wanted to invite these ideas because it seems you are asking for "Anti meta" strategies. Let's say, put the ADC and Support in top lane and a waveclear/safe champ in bot lane and try to get your own ADC snowballing as fast as possible. They tend to be completely different than "non meta" strategies, like using a non mobile mid against the current Assassin heavy metagame.

First and only bump to the thread since it's fallen off the front page.
