How does one get out of bronze

PokeImmortal·2/22/2015, 1:12:16 PM·1 votes·1,018 views

I have been in bronze for awhile, yet I keep great kda's, but I don't understand why if the team keeps losing I get demoted even though my kda is good. I am asking if anyone knows how to get out of bronze, and I'm not saying it is because of trolls its just seems like having a good kda does not change anything in this gameDarius

At least make it less obvious that you aren't a good team player. Goddamn.

As a level 17 player, I don't have much knowledge of the game, but if your team makes you lose, try to aim for towers and other objectives instead of just kills.

im guessing that playing the BS champions would do it.

Play what YOU know you can play, not what everyone says is good, because if you suck at say, Zed, you're not gonna do well regardless of how much of a "BS champion" he is.

Heaven help you if you have a Yi on your team.

My advice? Start over on a new account if you haven't payed for a bunch of stuff (like I unfortunately have), climb back up to 30 (it's not that hard), basically relearn the game. You can even do that and come back to your first account, play some ranked, and see how much easier it is.

I'm gonna consider it training. Hell, a lot of low levels nowadays are better than bronzies anyways.

(Edit) Upon further inspection it seems you have the "Call Of Duty" mindset. You think KDA wins games. League requires towers to win. You can be behind in kills, and if you get that nexus, you've won. There used to be a playstyle that revolved around dying constantly so you became worth less gold than a minion essentially, and distracting the enemy team.

TL;DR: Turrets before kills.

Play champions with loads of cheese potential (Riven, Singed, Quinn, AP Trynd, etc.)

Well KDA is a means to an end not an end in itself. You need to do things with a good KDA to get you advantages. If you can consistently get a good KDA where you are, then that's a start. It means you have solid mechanics and a good understanding of champs abilities/lanes. Start by buying a lot of wards. Every back buy 1 or 2, grab a sweeper, buy a pink. Put them in the other team's jungle if you are ahead, in your jungle if you are behind. It makes a HUGE difference. Next, try to control dragon. If you pick the enemy jungler, go for it! Finally, push. If you get ahead, push A LOT. remember the ultimate goal is not to get a good KDA but to take the enemy nexus.

Having done the same thing in NA, and working on the same here, I would say focus on winning your lane so well that you can afford to help the other lanes.

KDA is nice to get your started but if you dominate your lane, take a tower then roam to another lane whilst your enemy laner is still trying to catch up you can also get that lane rolling too.

This is part of the reason people are whining so much on the boards about Lee Sin. He has a great early game and falls off a bit late game but because of his extreme early game dominance he can appear in lanes and literally turn a lane about to lose into a winning snowball lane.

To put it logically, think of it this way. How much does it annoy the hell out of you when its 2v1 in lane? Think of how annoying it is when its 2v1 in your lane and the guy coming in is fed.... On top of that your other lane didn't even ping he was missing because, you know, bronze. This is what people mean by being able to carry games. It isn't simply a case of winning your lane, its a case of winning your teams lanes too because they aren't doing it as well as you or even not winning at all.

Get lucky. I swear I've watched "pro" player rising in rank and am in awe at how they never get afker's or teams that have absolutely no idea who or where they are. They just fly through bronze like... really?

It's all luck imo. Lots of these guys who get to diamond in a weekend just have the nerd luck. Idk what that is but its real. I have the opposite lol. Like I'll have (you can check my history) 7 afkers over the course of 30 games and my opponents never getting one. I break statistics. "Statistics" should work but they don't on me. They really don't. Just be glad that you have the bad luck.. you're probably dope in other ways ;) lol.

Some will say "hey you gotta lead your team and talk in chat and blah blah blah blah". Doesn't work. I find it funny how they are lucky enough to have teammates who actually listen to them lol. Maybe they pay them or something? Idk. I'm actually okay with my bad luck at games in general. Anyone who say's "luck doensn't exist. It's statistics.", don't have bad luck.

If you think im lying.. I'd like a dev to tally up all my games in ranked including past seasons if they want, and see the number of afkers and feeders on my team vs my opponents. It will melt all of your minds and break math entirely. It's called bad luck.

Let me tell you a story of my trip from bronze to gold. First I was playing fizz in bronze 3, would go 20+ kills and less than 5 deaths. Would lose, would blame my team, which yes it was quite a bit their fault. After a while I realized I'm taking all of the kills, if I can't solo carry then I need to let teammates have some so they aren't completely useless. So your 20 kills doesn't mean shit and awesome kda if your team has 0 between the other 4 of them, they're useless and once you die nothing happens.

Secondly, look at yourself not them. Don't have the mentality "I'm super good my team just sucks" that may actually be the case, but work on getting better enough to where you can carry. An example is I'm sitting silver 4 right now. Had really bad placements due to me quitting and hopping back into ranked. However bronze was still literally faceroll, I've won two 4v5s.

Third change your attitude. Don't consider yourself better than them until you escape them. Attitude can make or break your play. If you're not gold, don't consider yourself gold skilled same with anything above. If you put yourself down on their level, you'll get a lot better because 80% of your teammates and enemies think they're easily plat skill, while in bronze. Trust me this is incredibly hard for me, sometimes I get annoyed, sometimes I get toxic (Usually when provoked by another toxic player)

If all that fails, play heimerdinger top, setup turrets before minions spawn. Max Q, when you get ganked Ult Q run in and out of bush. Hit gold.

win more games than you lose... to be more precise, win 2 out of every 3 ;)
