I am thinking of using Flex queue to practice (cus I want to practice in somewhat serious setting) and just consider Solo queue as my significant game. Hence, I would like to know the answer to the question,** "Is the Flex queue COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT from Solo queue??"** Anyone know about this with certainty?

Basically, yes. What started as Solo/Duo turned into Dynamic, then reverted back to what you have as Solo/Duo. Your Flex 3v3 and 5v5 are pretty much separate and provide a bonus reward achieving Gold or higher in those as well as your Solo/Duo.
Preseason in particular had players only able to play Flex Queue while they were getting everything for Solo/Duo set up. This apparently had players with all kinds of rankings from Dynamic Queue pit against one another (things like a team of Bronze/Silvers vs Plats/Diamonds). Basically by theory, and just from what it shows on your profile, Flex rank is not your Solo/Duo rank and thus has a different MMR, which at the time put everyone equal. Hopefully this helps.
