Ladder system

Just curious as to why the ladder system for solo que is based off win/loss ratio. Why not combine performance and win/loss ratio using a weight ratio of 40 to 60% to determine ladder rank? That way if you get someone who is salty with you and just intentionally feeds you aren't going to necessarily loose IP if you play exceptionally well even if you take the loss.

It's been brought up. The concern we have with anything that modifies LP gain/loss that isn't 'your team won/didn't win' is that it can distort player behavior in game at the expense of their team. At present if you're trying to maximize your odds of gaining LP the best thing you can do is whatever increases your team's chances of winning the most. If you add LP incentives to personal champion grades however you end up with some situations where players are encouraged to try and maximize their grade at the expense of their team. That leads to cases like players refusing to defend because they think the game's already over and they don't want to get any more deaths, players farming to try and increase their CS for grade purposes instead of just winning the game, players going for repeated kills on weak enemy champs instead of just taking an objective etc.

Interesting, because in order to carry a game (which we keep getting told we have to do and ignore your 4 team mates if they aren't helping towards that goal), we have to do exactly what they don't want us to do for individual goals.

Once again, Rito's logic backfires...kinda like Autofill.

The only true goal is the Nexus.

Exactly my point. Most players either don't know that, don't care, or are just ignorant. They are playing the game already as if they are going for an individual grade and not the win.

I think the actual answer to the question is that Riot wouldn't know how to implement such a formula. I mean I can't even imagine how you would combine team wins with individual performance and still keep the right amount of people in each tier.

Mathmaticly it would actually be easy. You roll would have weighted attributes such as dmg done, taken, amount of CC landed, and it would be avg similar to a GPA. The biggest problem is K/D/A being weighted heavily.

Fyi they already give us a PMA via S, A, B etc.

We are a team game... where we expect you to beat 5 other players by yourself, or accept our forced 50/50 WR.

Doesn't have to be kills it can be based on DMG or DMG taken heals objectives and kills could be weighted in for less of performance mark avg

Agreed. Unranked retards should be playing with unranked retards. It is like kids play with kids. That simple. but riot keeps putting this one unranked trash in my team.

I would not put it the way you said it but you get people who dont main the role they get, you end up getting screwed. Plus you can get people who are bitter and intentionally feed or AFK your game. A PMA would actually motivate the player to not give up or play poorly for a penilty for a clear statistic value lower than the champ role avg.

Not to trash talk top challenger players because they are amazingly skilled, but people hit that top tier are playing 600+ games. If you avg the game time 30 minutes that is 300 hrs or 12 Days of play time and we are not even mid season. There are other players that may be equally as competative but they can not keep that amount of player volume.
