Taric Kit Rework Ideas

Knowing that a Taric gameplay/visual overhaul is coming in the future (we will never know when, but it is eventually coming), I've decided to pitch in a few ideas for a kit rework. I aim to create a kit that makes gameplay involving Taric a bit more interactive instead of "Point-Click HEAL, Point Click DAZZLED!"

Taric's Niche

After reading Taric's lore, I decided that Taric can fit into two possible niches:

  • A guardian who uses his magic and gems to fight for and defend his allies or
  • A healer that does everything possible to help his allies, from healing actual wounds to raising moral.

Both of these seem very fitting for Taric, and are similar in several ways. I have prepared two kits for Taric, and I'll let you decide which one seems more fitting

Kit A: The Gem Guardian (Geared towards supportive/tanky top laner)

Passive

Infused Armor - Taric 's armor radiates with energy after casting spells in succession, granting him bonus armor and ability power for a few seconds up to a cap. Taric's armor bonus is stacked up to a cap, and casting a spell will refresh the duration of the passive.

Q

Revitalize - Taric 's gems radiate a rejuvenating energy, granting himself bonus health regeneration. When activated, Taric restores set amount of HP to an ally. If the ally is a champion, they gain bonus life-steal, spell-vamp, health regeneration for a few seconds. Taric's bonus health regeneration is lost while this effect is on an allied champion.

W

Resilience - Taric's armor gems weigh him down, passively granting immunity to enemy displacement spells as long as he has stacks of Infused Armor. When activated, Taric swings his hammer (or weapon depending on the VU), to knock back an enemy champion. If the champion collides with terrain, a percentage of their armor is shredded for a few seconds.

E

Glimmering Flash - Taric raises his jeweled shield and reflects a beam of light in a cone. Enemies caught looking into the initial blast are blinded, and enemies still staring at the time of the second blast are stunned.

Ultimate

Guardian Field - Taric enchants his hammer is jumps in a target direction (at the speed of jayce or jarvan dunk). Once he lands, he sends out a shockwave of AoE magic damage applied in 3 different hits (like syndra ult, and projected like Nautilus riptide). Enemies caught in the area are knocked up, and all allies in the area are healed, increased based on the number of enemies caught in the Guardian Field. While Guardian Field is on cooldown, health regeneration from Revitalize is amplified.

Kit B: The Gem of Hearts (Geared towards support)

Passive

Serene Radiance - Allies affected by Taric's spells have their morale raised, granting them bonus crit chance and damage for a few seconds.

Q

Perseverance - Taric's enchants an allies weapon, granting them bonus damage on their basic attack. This basic attack also applies 50% lifesteal.

W

Luminous Spirit - Taric's enchants all nearby allies, causing all of their offensive abilities and basic attacks to grant true sight of the target and grant them movement speed.

E

Solid Stance - Taric reinforces an allies armor with gems, granting them immunity to displacement spells for a few seconds.

Ultimate

Gift of the Fallen - Taric marks all nearby champions with a gem of life. If that champion takes lethal damage, the mark is consumed, and Taric restores their health at the cost of his own. Taric has no limit to the champions he can donate to as long as they are marked. Taric CAN die from donating his health to marked targets, and the kill is awarded to whoever deals the 'killing blow' to the last target marked.

Thank you to whoever read all of this and I look forward to all responses!

AQ BW AE BR, seems like a better kit than either alone imo, though if i have to go A or B I'll go A, for a support tank
