Why in the world would I want to play something else? I main ADC, its not like lol has a player deficiency..

It's to keep queue times shorter. High level players are already complaining about waiting 90+ minutes which is absurd, and regular players are complaining of 30+ minute wait time due to people dodging.
It would be much worse if it was put down to one role. Imagine how many people would pick mid then sit there and wait forever.
Besides that, being good at two roles in this game isn't hard :3.
