Can Riot give Irelia's E and Q interaction the same functionaliy as Diana's Ult and Q?

What I mean by this is that, when I'm clearing waves as Irelia it feels really shitty when I have to wait half a second before I Q spam the wave. Why can't I Q a minion while E is midair and still get my Q CD refunded?

I like how it feels on Diana, I Q first, but I Ult mid air and the ult is still refunded. Smooth

Because Diana Q shouldnt be an interaction in the first place. It gives you a huge amount of leniency, and by that i mean the ult hits first, then the Q hits, but it gives you the reset anyway.

It allows for cleaner interaction and faster playstyle, it takes timing to do, you don't get the reset 100% of the time anyways, most of the time they have reaction time to get out or flash away from the 1 shot combo, it's still a combo that shows skill. The way Irelia's currently is, punishes people who try to be faster than their opponent for a engage, because you HAVE to land your E first before jumping in or you lose a Sheen proc + another Q, all because you tried to trip them up, Irelia is meant to be a smooth agile fighter who flies around the place, but is punished for trying to do exactly that?

Lol Diana’s is fair imo... she can only reset once from a q (I.e. she can only consume the debuff once on a single target. For irelia to have that interaction she’d have to give up the ability to dash to multiple marks. All of the targets that get hit with moonlight have the debuff removed once she consumes one, so she’s have to reapply it with the q.... irelia’s doesn’t have all the marks disappear when she q’s to one of them, so has a lot more mobility than Diana who’ll at most have two dashes if she doesn’t get to hit with another q.

And? Whats so unfair about a fighter with no escape being able to speed up her combo?

Because it wasnt designed that way? Its not even a tactic its just a widely accepted exploit at this point.

Ok, are we seriously getting into this debate, because Diana hasn't been in meta since the 2nd patch after her release. Her kit is unhealthy but it has nothing to do with her Q-R mechanic. Diana still has to land her Q to get her reset, this mechanic just allows her to combo faster.

Removing this would mean she'd have delayed dmg which

  1. she doesn't need because she's an assassin

  2. a terrible idea even on assassins, thus why many of them are getting reverted.

Diana is fine. If you think she's OP, you haven't played her - simple.

No some delay is definitely in order. Getting off all of your spells and damage in literally one frame has never been healthy for league.

Sure they took it too far with some of the assassin reworks but thats literally what she does. If she becomes meta i guarantee this mechanic is getting removed.

Are you suggesting we nerf an out of meta champion? A champion that is considered weak in low elo, and a troll pick in high elo? You definitely haven't played diana if you think she needs that removed. diana is not an assassin, she's a fighter. her job is to oneshot the carry and pray to god that her team follows up because she has no escape. now imagine if we offered the enemy more counterplay against diana. diana jumps in, gets outplayed, doesnt get the kill, and then what? she doesn't have an "oops I fucked up" button like Kat (Shunpo) Leblanc (distortion) Akali (R, diana uses her reset on enemy because of it's scaling) Fizz (Trickster) Zed (W) and so on. She can't just LEAVE a fight once she's in. If you're going to offer the enemy counterplay against Diana and make it so that her one job of oneshotting the carry has a higher failiure rate, then why even pick Diana?

She's fine as she is.

but Irelia's E doesn't give marks on minions tho? they removed that.

I feel the same way, I've been playing Diana since release and always enjoyed how smooth the reset is, just hard for me to get used to waiting to dash before the E fully hits.

Maybe you could dash between two or more minions before your E goes off if Irelia had the same particular functionality as Diana you're talking about. I love your idea; I'm just trying to think of reasons it might not be this way as of now.

Diana's Q actually hits before her ult hits. The refund cares about when you hit the target, not when you activate the ability.

You're wrong.
