My ping hit 22,000 ms. So basically for those that don't know metric, that means it took my internet 22 full seconds to talk to riot's servers. This is the only game that I lag like this too. I'll have a spike or two on overwatch or tf2, but league lags the hardest. I'm gonna invest in a new wifi card maybe that'll help, since Riot needs whatever help it can get in this endeavour.
These might be obvious, but there's a couple things you can do about insane lag you shouldn't be getting. Overheating computer will cause your network card to randomly quit working for short periods of time. If you're using a laptop get one of those cooling pads with fans inside to force air against the bottom of the computer. Also if any of the lights in your house sometimes flicker you may have a wiring problem. I was getting random bursts of lag despite perfectly fine ping and the problem turned out to be a short inside a light switch, which was causing voltage drops that would briefly stop my router from working (1-2 seconds at a time). Not long enough to drop the connection entirely but certainly long enough to get outplayed and die. On the other hand, it could be your ISP, in which case pony up more money or switch providers.
