Hey rito I think that i speak for alot of the community when i say that skins are hard to come by when ppl dont have the money to shell out for the game. I thought maybe that if you take a champion like kalista who is 6300 ip to buy and make her skin blood moon kalista 12300 ip so ppl can get the skins for free but at an increased price

Since League is a free to play game, it would make sense to have skins, features that do not give an advantage (besides morale), cost real money. Runes, masteries, and other champions, which affect your gameplay, are fine with costing IP.

I would be happier and more willing to buy skins if they were not priced like horse armor. Actually horse armor was just $2.50. Most skins don't change anything about a character. Most are $7.50 some are priced at $14.

Thats just me. I have paid 40$ on the game and I am not sure about the value of what I got... I get they need to make money but, price reductions should happen with really old/not popular skins.

Well, Riot doesn't make money then. Even though they might enjoy their community, their main goal is still to garner insane profits as a company.

It's probably doable but the IP cost would probably have to be so high, to prevent a loss of RP sales, that the number would cause more outrage than it is worth. Based on some studies I've read usually it's the first microtransaction which is the hardest for the players. With that in mind, maybe riot could do recolor skins as IP only as a easy way to take a first step into purchasing skins.

You know that is a rather interesting approach. SO are we talking like most of the kennen skins as recolors or what? Its a way that is less overall work for Riot and could make people want to buy more skins because they want more out of them.

Not sure about the overall effectiveness tho, but it would be worth a try .

Everything in the store that costs RP is purely cosmetic, they don't give any sort of advantage to one person over another, so no, skins should not be available for free. If you want a skin, then dish out a little money to help support Riot. It's not much for a skin considering the value of the game your getting to play for free.

WoW has a subscription cost of $15 a month, yet they still have a micro-transaction store, for cosmetics and their prices are 2-3x the cost that Riots is (battle pets $10 : ward skins/260-520RP skins, mounts ranging from $25-$30 : ultimate skin) and yet LoL is still free to play, I think were getting off pretty easy. imo.

So if you want a skin (maybe even 2 pending on release date) throw down like $10. If you don't got the money/don't want to spend the money, then don't. Your not missing out on anything.

P.S. a recolor idea wouldn't be terrible, but I think if thzts the case then it should be at the price mentioned in another reply here, if a champ is 6300 ip, then the recolor should be something like 12,600 ip or even 18,900ip, that way there is more of an incentive to push towards buying RP for a legit skin, or having the option to pay 2x-3x the champ cost for a recolor skin, to help with ip inflation, for those with mass amounts of ip with nothing to do with it and for those who are unable to afford / choose not to purchase rp. I know SMITE does it, I believe once you've reached a certain amount of games played with a certain champion (or a certain amount of wins to gain "favor/rep" with a champion) you unlock the option to purchase a gold recolor of the champions for their version of IP
