Taliyah nerf destroys waveclear without considering teamfighting

I believe that the balance team made a huge mistake on patch 8.10 with the Taliyah nerfs. I fully understand what the balance team was trying to do by reducing her power in pushing. However, as a main of Taliyah, one of the things the balance team did not consider at all is the fact that most of Taliyah's dmg in teamfights comes from consistent q dps. And, most of the time, the enemy team is grouped up. This results in the q aoe hitting 2-4 people at once. With the removal of the aoe, they have effectively fourth-ed Taliyah's teamfighting ability. This is even worse in laning phase as most of Taliyah's dmg onto champs comes from aoe from minions around them. I don't have a problem with nerfs to Taliyah's waveclear (preferably nerfing other high waveclear champs at the same time like a-sol). However, this change really hurts Taliyah's overall play as can already be seen by winrates. Taliyah is currently in the D Tier near the bottom of all champs according to 2 differen major tier sites: https://rankedboost.com/lol-tier-list-solo-queue/ https://tierlist.gg/mid-lane-tier-list/. I propose, that to nerf's Taliyah's waveclear without destroying her as a champion, they simply make her q still have aoe but do 50% dmg to minions. This way she would push much slower and still be a viable champion in teamfights.

EDIT: This post is now irrelevant as Taliyah got a buff hotfixed to live and now shes fine.

I'm shocked Taliyah needed to be changed at all. I mean, her winrate is only 46% :T Like, can you focus on over-powered champions instead of preying on the already-in-the-shithole ones?

Yup, but Riot won't back peddle on this. That would imply they made a mistake, which is simply unacceptable for them.

That's what her Q did before wasn't it? And you still can do damage and team fights, and on top of that you can still push lane by taking advantage of her free mana Q on worked ground, and using that saved mana to throw her E down more often than you normally would. And according to those websites she has a win rate between 45%-48% (I dunno which website was more accurate) but her win rate was already low to begin with. The patch came out yesterday, give Taliyah players a chance to get used to the new Q feel and come back in a week or so and see if her win rate is still marginally worse than it was before. :^)

Coming back to reminisce on this topic, but your math where they "effectively fourth-ed Taliyah's teamfighting ability" was complete garbage. If you play Taliyah at all you would know that most of your damage comes from bursting with her combo. Also "Taliyah got a buff hotfixed to live and now shes fine." Can't play Taliyah at her worst, you don't deserve her at her best B) Throw hands boi

What youre suggesting is basically how it already worked.

Give it more than 3 days before complaining please.

If your opponents are consistently stacked in teamfights, then they're bad, and Taliyah was never going to be the best pick to exploit that.

Against decent opponents you're very rarely going to hit Q on more than one target at once.
