Zed Is Free

**Zed is free. **

For those of you who are complaining about Zed, go play him, then realize:

  1. How difficult he is to start off with
  2. How fun it is to play him once you get a ways better
  3. Why people play him in ranked.

Once you see how people beat you, you'll have a better understanding of how to beat him.

Then realize that the people who main him, or at least play a lot of Zed, are strong because they know what to do, and know that you don't.

Zed noobs and Zed mains are all playing him. Get/give some advice, whether it be to play as or against Zed.

Here's a tip or two: Zed tends to not kill you before his ult pops. You have time to use your resources to live, because it tells you whether or not you will die. He's an assassin, he is supposed to kill you in one go, so if he doesn't, LEAVE! He has about 5-10 seconds of downtime minimum, use that time to run/heal/back or whatever.

                                                                                                                                                   ~**_The Cobalt Quartz_**

I am probably the worst zed to ever exist, I cannot play him and misplay with him ,but people made him out to be more "skillful" than he actually is. He is really easy to do well with, his skillcap is extremely blown out of proportion and his sheer power can mitigate your missteps that you do make. When in doubt, it's super easy to sit in lane all day and just q farm and cs with his passive and bide your time.

played zed quite alot on different accounts dont currently own him on this but lets go over the points.

  1. he is actually pretty easy with a care free laning phase due to a manaless poke that has high range and high damage and has no negatives like other manaless spells like Kennen q which cant go threw targets or Aatrox that is low range and gets narror.

  2. i actually find "learn a combo and you learnt the champ" boring. to me just going rweq (add in w and r recast as needed) for an all in or weq for poke rather boring to me playing a reactive playstyle which means changing times depending what your up against is alot more fun. i like dodjing Amumu ults with MasterYi q or Veigar ult with Fizz e. or a Darius ult with Nocturne sheild

  3. because they want to feel justified in low elo? i saw more zeds in silver (for the 30 games i was there) then the 300+ games iv been in plat this season. most people who clime are like "i just want to get better at basic shit so lets start there" and they play champs like Annie Garen MasterYi this allows us to focus on important shit like should i take dragon where should i gank what items i can buy instead of "HOW FAST CAN I CAST THIS COMBO!"

and any coach/person who gives coaching sessions (you know, not the youtubers who are "CLICK BAIT TIER LIST PLAY THE OP SHIT!" will recommend simple champs to allow for players to learn the basics. an example be lastshadow9 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdvqIFzCRPY he constantly tells people to stick to champs however the one he recommends the most is Kayle even tho he personally never plays her.

only self entitled people play zed. even people like red mercy he speaks of himself of better then he is. granted he is quite good but he gives himself to much credit.

However for the odd few zeds that just play him without an ego and just do their job good to them however they are rare as fuck and iv only met 3 out of the 1000s of times iv played vs and with zeds and 2 of them are on my friends list.

Zed is easy to play hard to master. However riot has constantly been simplifying the game, in terms of balance. Raising the skill floor and lowering the skill ceiling. Unfortunately, zed's skill floor is so high, that his resulting power is insanely high.

People seem to think that when a champion is OP, it's because they have amazing power. When really it's about a combination of power/simplicity/reliability.

Zed only lacks simplicity, but even in that department he isn't complex to be effective. He's like the new malzahar in a lot of ways. He either works and is OP, or he doesn't work and is useless. They gave both massive power, however where zed is lacking simplicity, malzahar lacks reliability. Both are terribly designed, but for similar yet different reasons.
