So can some one justify why supports are building the Eye of w/e on supports?

Literally the stats when compared side by side are completely garbage.

Let's use the combo for tanks.

The eye of equinox gives you 450 health, and 4 wards.

While the Face of the Mountain + Ruby sight stone. Although more expensive, you get :

950 health. 10% cdr 10% item CDR. Active Shield. 4 wards

4 wards 450 health.

o.O What ever support builds this shit imo. deserves to lose.

This shit isn't cost efficient at all.

You just compared 4000 gold worth to 2200 gold worth. (¬ . ¬) I can buy both of Dead Man's Plate's components for that meager 1800 gold. Or Aegis and Boots.

Though if you want the closest comparison, you would end up buying Kindlegem and Giant's Belt.

Face+Ruby SS - 950 Health/10%CDR/Item 10%CDR/Shield/4 Wards

Eye+Kindle+Belt - 1030 Health/10%CDR/4 Wards

Overall it comes down to slot efficiency and how valued the active for Face is. For tanks in particular I think going the Face/Ruby SS route is ideal if you are the only tank on the team. If you have another either in the Jungle or in Top Lane, it might be better to fill your slots with other tools (Frozen Heart, Crucible, Zzrot, Righteous Glory).

supports have extremely low income so you have to itemise as slot and cost efficiently as possible, and if that means getting an eye, do it.
