Could you guys make a game mode where people get to play the classic league of legends with old champions before reworks on the old maps with old monsters etc for atleast a month it would be so cool.

They don't keep any of that stuff. Riot likes to focus on the future and move forward when they update their content so all of that is gone.

I really doubt they don't have a repo with their old content somewhere in there.

It doesnt matter if they do or not, it wouldnt be able to run and would take more work than making something new from the ground up.

Plus they'd have to push more time into making sure it was stable and have more servers to up keep that, when they already have servers established for League that already have their own issues in general.

They very likely do keep a record of all these things. Would be dumb not to, anyways you're also right it just wouldn't work and it's a lot easier to just make something new than to flesh out the old to work now.

I'd assume you'd only really need a backup for at most a single patch in case a new patch completely breaks. I doubt they keep a collection of all old patches. Hell, they might not even keep a backup patch based on that one recent patch we had where literally everything on live broke.

I think this is just a fancy way of saying Riot's really bad at archiving.

I remember people talking about the poor way Riot actually makes League and that it doesn't hold up to most methods used by other game studios. Messy code, bad archiving, etc.

Riot's even commented themselves on some of the messy way's they've programmed certain abilities, for example Jarvan's ult in terms of hitbox interaction is actually just a circle of minions https://technology.riotgames.com/sites/default/files/A%20Taxonomy%20of%20Tech%20Debt%20Alt%20Header.png

And a similar thing happening to Yasuo's ult which doesn't actually stop abilities but rather Teleports them away to an immortal minion off the map

That actually seems like it would be an interesting idea! But it would be a pain in the ass to create. More than likely, it would just have to be it's own seperate thing, kind of like WoW Classic. Because they'd have to remake and reprogram all of the old champion designs, of which there's a LOT.

riot tosses all old assets as soon as they're done with them (IE: rengar and leblanc reverts had to be re-coded from the ground up because they just deleted the old code without a trace), if you want something back there's a very high chance it doesn't actually exist anymore, hell iirc they deleted the crystal scar + some other alternative gamemode assets from the current game files a bit ago and Big Doubt to them still having it internally

When RuneScape players made a petition to bring back older RuneScape, they had to vote 2006 RuneScape or RuneScape 2 (2010). Because no one liked RuneScape 3, which lead to epic fail and disappointment. Even my self I am still playing OSRS and its way more fun than that garbage RuneScape 3, same happening with league...

That may be true, I remember reading that post back when they first made the statement, but that was before WoW Classic's success. If a company see's a success, they tend to like to emulate or copy it. So nowadays, it could go either way.
