tips for playing janna?

for context, i'm new to league & i only started playing a few days ago. i got janna's champion shard in one of those capsules & i was really happy because she's my favorite champion. the thing is, i've only played her twice (both in co-op v. AI, in intro) but i'm so bad at her that it makes my teammates mad & i end up basically doing nothing the whole match because i have no idea what to do with her without risking my teammates getting mad at me. does anyone have any sort of guides or tips on how to play her that a new player could understand?

She's a support, so basically you have to play botlane with an adc (the guys who pew pew). You have to be passive (depends, I heard that with her new rework, you have to max W and poke enemies). Your role is to protect your team, not kill the enemies

I'll help ya out a bit, sure. :3

As Janna, you're primarily a defensive support, but you also have good offense capabilities (such as flash-ults to spilt their botlane in half). Keep this in mind.

Don't poke mindlessly with Q. Save it for when you really need it.

Your E can shield turrets. The AD boost on it is also powerful, but it has a decent cooldown. Don't be stupid with it.

Your purpose in the game is generally to prevent the enemy team from killing your team.

And, finally (since I don't have terribly much time): Don't worry so much about your team. They're going to flame you a lot at that level. Ignore the flaming, pay attention to the constructive criticism, and keep improving.
