Tower diving isn't something to be penalized immediately. It's the person who is being dived who can outplay (if playing someone like Azir) to penalize the champion or champions who are diving them. Most of Zed's counters are counters for a reason. They have the ability to outplay Zed, especially under turret. They all have hard CC that can fuck Zed up, and if you play safely enough until 
, you can even pick up a kill, if not completely deter Zed from killing you and wasting his ultimate.
His laning is way too safe and free and should have a mana system like the rest of the people.
The problem is that his kit is supposed to be played in such a way that he NEEDS to spam his abilities. He HAS to WEQ at every point possible in order to pick up a kill. Aside from his clear lore connection to Shen, Kennen, and Akali (all of whom ALSO use energy), energy is the resource designed for his kit. Or rather, his kit is designed for energy.

with barely any counter play aside from some very expensive items you need to rush to even compete.
Except Riot has given you the tools. If playing a mage, run your basic Sorc runes, and take Inspiration with Perfect Timing and Future's Market. Combined, they'll allow you to reach Zhonya's faster, and even outplay (as I said earlier) Zed along the way.
But free energy needs to be nerfergy'd hard and replaced with conventional mana with high costs.
Not sure what "nerfergy'd" means. Like I said earlier, his kit is not designed for mana. Azir uses his auto-attacks for the soldiers, whereas Zed needs his abilities.
Also nerf or remove lethality or make zed unable to utilize it.
And what becomes of Zed? Ah yes, the good ol' Crit Zed that some autist came up with a while back. What becomes of Talon? Or Rengar? Or Kha'Zix? Or Shadow Assassin Kayn? Critgar works. Not sure about Crit'Zix. Crit Talon doesn't work because he's basically an easier Zed. Will people have to rush Rhaast just to be viable? Don't forget that Lethality was designed FOR Zed, Rengar, Kayn, Talon, and Kha. The real abusers are the ADCs.
Come to think of it the whole idea of an assassin type champion is a shitty idea to begin with which is why no other game wants to mimic it.
Ah yes. Do you remember what happened when Assassins weren't strong? Hint hint, Ardent Meta. Assassins and Burst Mages are vital to balancing the ADCarry role, and when you get rid of them, and give the ADCs more shielding and survivability coupled with their insane damage, and you basically have Twitch+Janna. And lookie here, Riot has fucked both Assassins and Burst Mages in the past.
It is not a fun thing to have around.
Except for the people who play them and those who actually know how to counter them. It challenges them, and most people like a good challenge. Most people would rather lane against Zed than Heimer.
I see a Zed mid or a yasuo every game in casuals.
Perhaps because they're shit in actual Ranked...? Ever cross your mind? Most Ranked teams involve a ton of tanks and hyper-carry ADCs. Zed falls off HARD late game, and is a terrible choice for Ranked.
How are people supposed to attempt to enjoy your game if you dont want them too.

L U L. League's Worlds stadium this year was fucking full, and it was the largest stage they've used YET. Not to mention the fact that it's still the #1 most popular game in the fuckin' world.

From what I've read, you seem like a typical salt-mine who just recently lost to Zed because you fed. Take a break, gather your thoughts, meditate, and then come back to League. Playing on tilt just makes it worse.
