Calling Out To All Yorick Players
I am starting to get into
Yorick and I would love some tips about the champion, who he counters, who counters him and play styles. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

take demolish.
you now drop towers faster then you can say September elev-
When I saw the title I thought this thread would be roasting all Yorick mains for a moment.
i love picking him into shen.
it puts him into a tough spot. if he ults to leave lane just for a second, he loses his turret. he cant beat you in a head on fight after a couple levels either.
a neat little trick is, that you can interrupt teleports and channels like shen ult with your w by placing the border on top of the enemy hitbox. it creates a small displacement effect that is enough to count as hard cc. a lot of players dont expect it and dont back off far enough in the expectation that you dont have hard cc to stop them, just to get their tp channel broken by the circle.
i havent played the yorick vs. darius matchup since darius buffs, but he used to demolish darius early on with 4 ghouls.
is exceptionally nasty on yorick, since the ghouls apply the burn.
you can start with any of these starting items:
if you're gonna trade a lot.
if you're laning against a weak laner.
if you're laning against a poke champ.
there's basically 3 builds you can go depending on situation and preference:
You can also run a versitility of Runes: keystone:
A thing with yorick is that you should in most cases solo riftherald around 16 minutes when you get the chance and you have your ult up. Later in the game, solo killing baron is also definitely an option with yorick.
Always keep an eye on your mana bar as his costs are quite high early.
whenever you get ganked after 6, you can in most cases just turn onto the jungler or your laner, whoever is lower and there's a great chance you can pick up a double kill.
Letting your ult and minions push a lane while you're staying with your team is a good option. With your ult and demolition rune you can also easily destroy a turret around lvl 9 with a single minion wave. and whenever you're splitting try to get your team to push other lanes hard or pressure baron.
Try not to use your E whenever you don't have any minions up as the damage and slow are kinda meh unless your opponent is stacking hp
your W can displace enemies, you can use this to cancel channeled abilities like ![]()
Always max Q first, followed by W or E depending on preference. Maxing W first will allow you to cage people more often and keep them in the cage longer as it has more hp. Maxing E first will allow you to make minions focus your enemy more often, as well as it dealing a little bit of increased damage.
He counters most tanky champs due to his E and R percentage damage and sustained damage, as well as his sustain. He gets countered by urgot and most ranged champs with mobility(except vayne, her Q gets blocked by his W) and you should keep an eye out when laning against Darius. He is a pretty good blind pick as he can still beat his counters mostly when played well enough
Had an 80% win rate with this build in the previous season. Granted I didn't play top too much. This might not work for you if you're not too familiar with how Yorick works.
last item is whatever you need
You may be wondering why no damage items? Your base damage is already really good. Your sustain with your ult and Q is more than enough to duel off anyone.
Abyssal makes your R do 10% more damage. The Eternity passive of Abyssal also gives you increased sustain. Spend mana gain HP. Take damage gain back mana. Pretty much no one will want to fight you unless they can 0-100 you.
Zzrot and Banner are for splitting and early game pressure.
Visage needs no explaining. Heal more = good.
Lucidity = more teleports.
So far as runes.
Grasp Demolish/Bone Plating (Demolish is way better, but you can take Bone Plating if you're relatively new to Yorick) Conditioning/Second Wind Overgrowth/Unflinching (Overgrowth is generally better, but Unflinching can save you from time to time)
Secondary (Sorted by what I feel is best to worst) Taste of Blood + Ingenious Hunter Eyeball Collection + Ingenious Hunter Ultimate Hat + Transcendence Cosmic Insight + Future's Market
Alternatively you can play with Unsealed Spellbook or even Dark Harvest, but those feel sort of meh.
Champion match-ups are dependent on how good you are vs how good your opponent is.
Maiden gives you a massive boost to your 1v1. You can even 1v2 if you play it right. Both you and the mistwalkers do bonus damage to her targets. Just be smart with using her, at rank 1 her CD is almost 3 minutes.
