Finding your main champion

Actually I can't find a champion that I would really love, but I found that I like the assassins, a champion that can get in fights often or just clean up the enemies. Champions that I kind of liked in the past are Ekko Ekko Rengar Rengar Vayne VayneZed ZedKhazix Kha'Zix. Anyone have a tip for me, please? [sg-zephyr]

don't play who is strong.. finding a main isn't about "finding one one who will win you games" it is about finding someone you enjoy playing even if you're losing.

you need to know how good u are mechnially first, and compare that to how good you are intelligence wise.

do u outsmart your opponents? or do u have crazy orb walking skills.

if you have very good mechanics, you are goiugn to be better at mechnically intensives champs which take less "skill" but more "mechanics"

if u have less mechanics but can easily outsmart your opponents, then pick champs that have mroe skills and prediction

support is better for those who play the map and can predict and quickly judge skill levels of teammates and adc's accuratly to know when you can save somone and when u cant.

but support donest require much on "mechanics" just game knowledge

pick a champion that fits how u play.

for example. i have bad mechanics but a have TREMENDOUS game knowledge and can very easily outsart nearly every opponent i encounter... i can watch thier movements and predict to land skillshots.

i can even watch then enter fog of war and use thier movement speed and riot's build in pathing system to extremely accuratly predict what loation they will likely be and place a skillshot at that exact location when they should be there, even with no vision.

pick a champion that really speaks to you

i main nidalee, i always have.. she has been my main since day one over 5 years later she is still my main.

my my champs pool has expanded but mostly includes similar champs

Nidalee Lux Morgana Blitzcrank and evenWarwick on his ulti, make extremely good use of my ability to land skillshots that stop that the first target hit.

other champs i like to play but dont actaully play are Syndra Orianna Ziggs

champs i have played with and tested and really liked by never really used and would learn of i got back into mid lane are Ahri Ekko

and champ i wouldnt mind learning like Rakan but have never played.

there are also a few champs that i REALLY love but i cannot play becuase they fail to meet the requirements Kindred for example is FAr too close to an ADC and too mechanically intensive for me to play. although i am VERY good with her ulti, and the strategy and timing behind it. i cant play the ranged auto attack part

strangly enough i also used to play RekSai and Darius which dont seem to fit this pattern at all

but both of which are still "non mechanical" champs

a long while back riot also made this

I agree with your comment because this is the way I think as well.

As I said in my comment, which pretty much contradicts yours, I hate my own advice.

I acknowledge that there are people with both mindsets. People like us who just enjoy playing the game with the intention of developing their own skill and have fun, and people who just want to win.

So I guess it's good that they have both pieces of advice and they will determine which they take based on what they actually want out of the game. :)

we'll he was asking how to find a main, not how to win games.. unfortunately like u discussed those no longer really correlate with each other much anymore. because the "OP" champs are so strong that skill vs them doesn't really matter as much anymore. only the skill of the person playing them.

I hate this advice, but it is honestly probably the best advice I can give.

Play who is strong at the moment.

It sucks because I don't like having a main. I prefer to learn and play everyone, but there are simply way too many champions to be able to pick someone at random and play them with consistent success.

The meta is also constantly shifting. Figure out who is over-buffed currently and practice them.

Keep an eye on the PBE so you know who is going to be strong in the next patch.

Being a meta-slave is probably the most reliable way to climb but screw that. Play the champ you think looks cool, I like Urgot, so I play him in the JG. You like assassins? Try so off meta ones. Diana is really fun, but really you can play almost anyone as an assassin if you build enough damage and play smart. I've seen bards one shot people.
