Is there another build path that is better or more preferred? I would like to get a set build and not try new ones every game.

Have you ever tried botrk, statikk shiv, and spirit visage with warlords? It's fun af.
If you're building IE, I would still first back 
, then get and the rest of your build. The extra 40 AD is worth delaying the full build of statikk. That's normally how crit adc's build. Get BF first back, then get your AS item(s), then IE.
Vayne can build a lot of different things depending on her situation, and although unpopular, I am a huge fan of Bork builds.
At the moment there are like 5 common builds. Most common two are ghotblade > shiv > ie or botrk > shiv > bt, i sometimes enjoy playing, botrk > shiv > rageblade, because your w stacks every second hit not 3rd, and sometimes i even go as vayne with smite on lane, but thats just in premade ranked team.
If you aren't building this you are doing it wrong:

dont get botrk on vayne anymore. please. or any adc really. unless they have a mundo that builds 5 warmogs and no armor. there is no point.
Take warlords, rush BF sword, build either berserkers or statikk, after statikk complete IE, build PD, get LW or BT in any order you need, other items are situational as last item.

You can't "rush" half of your build. That just doesn't make sense.
