VoIP in dynamic queue
So after watching the dynamic queue round table discussion, I wondered why none of the people brought up potentially adding native VoIP support to league of legends. According to the discussion in the video, toxicity is down considerably in ranked and normals due to people not fighting over different positions anymore (at least this doesn't happen nearly as much). Toxicity was the main argument against VoIP support in LoL. If the toxicity level is down than I don't understand why riot would not start to consider adding this feature into their game.
I believe that adding VoIP would also correct some of the problems that plague ranked solo queue currently. One of the perceived issues with Ranked Solo queue is that a pre-made team will have an advantage over a group of solo players. There are two major reasons why a pre-made team would have an advantage over a group of strangers; the pre-made team, is in theory, more used to each others play styles and the pre-made team has a better form of communication, VoIP or the ability to talk to each other in real life. Giving VoIP to the solo players would completely eliminate one of these issues and would further level the playing field between pre-mades and solo players. Also at the higher skill levels, players would be able to effectively minimize the the other issue just through their own skill (higher skilled players have a better understanding of the game and would have an easier time predicting their own team-mate's play styles based off the first few minutes of the game).
Voice communication is objectively better than typing and pinging in a fasted paced multiplayer game such as league of legends. It allows players to communicate in the heat of the action where as typing and pinging does not. Pinging/typing requires an extra action to be preformed, so its unrealistic in a team fight for a bronze player to be able to effectively communicate to his team while maintaining his/her skill. Its also well established in many other multiplayer games that voice chat does **not **increase the toxicity of a game. People who are toxic will be toxic no matter the form of communication and this is why a mute button is obviously a must.
I believe that right now is the perfect time to be considering adding this feature into LoL (both to fix some problems with dynamic queue and to increase the quality of life of the game). Almost every single other competitive multiplayer game has VoIP, why doesn't the largest multiplayer game in the world support this feature yet?
Update: In every article about Dynamic queues that ive read not a single person from Riot or otherwise has mentioned this potential idea. Its baffling to me how idiotic it is not to make this logical connection.
