Matchmaking and Other Stuff

Alright, so everyone here, has obviously been matched with either (fortunately) god-like teammates who can wipe the floor easily, or (unfortunately) the wimpy cry baby teammates who attempt to insult you, but end up insulting themselves in the process due to their horrendous gameplay. I wish Riot would actually match teammates of MY MMR, because obviously I can tell that these little guys who I go with in ranked are a bunch of terrible ninconpoops who've been elo-boosted to SILVER (who gets boosted to silver? Lol). Like I would love if they actually just found a way to match people fairly, unlike, "Oh let's just use an elo score to match you with these other guys. No, go to the actual chat logs, see how they act, and match me with GOOD people. I'm obviously not free of this "bad news", because my parents decide it's perfectly fine to flick the switch in the middle of the game that I'm playing, and therefore I get leaver penalties. This brings on my next topic, leaver penalties. There clearly, emphasize clearly, needs to be a difference between leaving a game, and forced disconnection, yes Lyte, I'm looking right at you. Many, many time my parents have done this, and still, you give me the same bullcrap, "A summoner such as yourself has left a game WILLINGLY, and now you must wait a retarded amount of time to play one game". All the people on my friends list can vouch for this, as they know what situation I'm in. Possibly either, A, shorten the time to actually wait, because 20 minutes for one game is dumb, and B, if the time gets shortened, increase the amount of games that get affected by this penalty. Ain't nobody got time to wait 20 minutes.

TL;DR: Match me with people who are actually my skill level, and chill with the penalties, really, they're ridiculous

Elo, which MMR is based off of, is one of the best estimations of skill level. Just because you don't understand it, doesn't mean it's bad. Anything else is next to impossible to code and very easy to exploit.

As for the disconnection, there is literally no way for Riot to tell the difference between your Ethernet cable being disconnected, your ISP cutting your connection, or a squirrel chewing through the phone lines. It sucks, but that is just how the world works sometimes.
