see title, does the change to slows mean trundle is screwed out of iceborn?

Removing stacking slows will make Iceborn Gauntlet, Rylai's, Red buff etc less valuable on champions that already have slows on their kits. It also somewhat reduces the value of having multiple champions with frequent slows on the same team. We believe it's a good change for the game though in large part because slows most affect champions without dashes/blinks/leaps. We'd like to help those immobile champs out a bit, reduce some of the power discrepancy between dash/no dash.

As far as champs like Trundle go we still expect Iceborn Gauntlet to be a decent option. His Q slow has a really short duration, so the overlap period is brief, while his E slow's got a pretty limited radius. It's not as valuable a pick up as it was, but should still be viable. Additionally, as a melee champ very dependent on his own movement speed, we also expect Trundle to be one of the more noticeable beneficiaries of this change, in terms of what he has to deal with from the enemy team.

Build Trinity instead and get a movement speed buff?

Knight SoIaire 7/7/2015, 11:42:28 PM4 votes

depends

trundles q slow is much shorter than the slowing field duration so it wont cancel itself out

meanwhile pilar is a small aoe ... so the slowing field extends it

but yes ... champions with slows of their own or even cc of their own should be forced away from those items those items are aimed at those who dont have anything of their own for the job

still i dont see much of a change for trundle ... once his slow wears off enemies will still stay in the gauntlets slow .. so nothing should go to waste

Triforce is ten times better than IBG on Trundle.

Er? Since when does anyone build an iceborn on trundle?

He doesn't even need the extra slow.

Olaf hidden nerfs : nerf RG and then this change at slow stacking . I dont like this change is like we nerf lifesteal because range champions abuse it, what about slow-stacking to be efficient at hyper mobile champions only. This change helps only range immobile-champs, for meele immobile champs this is a nerf

Oh well. These changes make life a little easier for immobile melees, who are screwed by slows the most.

i guess the ide behind iceborn is more that it gives acces to slows for those who don't have some, or only few on long cd.

However, iceborn was a lackluster item for anyone besides blue-ez already, it really needs some love now. actually, ap-bruiser itemisation could use some help, now with both RoA and RG down to 500hp from 650hp and 20ap less on zhonyas, which is still the only ap+armor item... I still hope for Moonflair on Summoners Rift item 3170 <3

p.s, i think the change helps trundle far more than it hurts, reciving less slows is huge on imobile melee-dps like him.

In effect, these slow changes seem to be a buff to assassin's and bruisers who would usually get CC locked by a bunch of slows and a few Hard CC

So let's make a list of the champions who can use IBG now without really losing out: Taric... AD bruiser Evelynn... Blitzcrank ...Diana with a tanky build...Skarner. This is hard. Maybe Gragas can still use it as Q's slow duration got gutted. Oh I guess Nidalee can use it if she is a laner against a lot of AD opponents. I didn't really build the item much before, barring Taric, so I think it's fine. Triforce is better in most situations unless you are looking to peel for your carries or you really need the armor.
