ryze nerf equals an identity crises.....
the recent nerf to his casting makes him a random champion with no identity. it seems as though riot spends time not only balancing champs but also giving them a unique feel and gameplay. for ryze, this was rapid fire spellcasts if you learn spell order and passive stacking. his kit isnt inheritly tanky....or single spell bursty....or anything but what he has always been...a rapid fire mage. it takes time and skill to master his stacks and build, but the reward was becoming a champ that can stand toe to toe with many other strong fighters. removing his identity of rapid fire spellcasting doesnt even the playing field, it makes every fight for ryze an uphill battle. the idea of champion mastery is to play a champ many times and learn to master them, with the reward being a more effective champ than a new player. so why try to master ryze now if the payout for doing so is negligible. imagine cutting mundos healing in half...or making teemos mushrooms visible. those things are champ idenetities and can be countered during the match. ryze could also be countered. now ryze still looks the same.....but what is he?
gets to do a barrel combo once every teamfight.
Talons ultimate will be up before GP's 3 barrels will be, if they use it at the same time.
