So I'm in that ELO hell everyone is talking about..

I've been juggling back and forth between silver 5 and silver 4. Today I've played 7 games so far and in 5 of them MY team had an afk to the point that we lost the game. 2 of those 7 games have been good games where both teams had players that finish the game. I was 1-1 in those games with solid stats.

I genuinely feel like I belong in a higher division. At least gold 5. I have good map awareness, can farm well, understand how every champion works and am able to focus on high-priority targets while minimizing mistakes. Don't get me wrong I still make a lot of mistakes with positioning and so on..

I don't understand how with my knowledge/playstyle that I'm in the same division as people who can't farm, can't focus anything but a tank, have 0 map awareness when it comes to objectives or champion movements, etc. I feel like every game I'm on the worse team even if I win.

How can I escape this?

Hope guides me... hope that at the start of next season I won't get sorted into Bronze only to have two of my newb friends join mid season and get sorted into Silver. I fought up from Bronze III in season 4 up to Silver III and then tanked back to Silver V. Sadly it's a grind or a luck fest either way.

I don't claim to be an expert, but I note that you play a lot of champions and a lot of roles. I suspect that if you focused on playing less champions you might find that you are able to push small edges you didn't even realize are there and have a larger impact on the game. In general, I would pick one or two champions for each role that you like playing and feel like you can impact the game with.

Also: you are 21-9 with Miss Fortune but 6-17 with Vayne. You may want to avoid playing Vayne unless you have a really good reason or find her really, really, really fun. Stick with MF and Sivir, who you seem to do well with.

Thanks for the advice! I do admit to liking vayne a lot but mechanically I'm just terrible with her. I have certainly trimmed down on the amount of champions that I play now and only focus on 1 or 2 champs per role now based on matchups and team comp. I have noticed a large difference in winning since I've done that.

Given your ability to do well on other champions, if it's just a matter of being mechanically bad with her, I suspect that continued play would cause you to get up to a higher level of play with her. It could be, however, that she just doesn't suit your play style or play to your strengths as a player. My understanding is that she is an aggressive ADC that requires a lot of knowledge of when you will win trades and when to go in. If you really enjoy her, you could certainly try to focus on learning her, but I suspect that would be more of an uphill battle for you than trying to focus on Miss Fortune, whom you already have a great win rate with. At the end of the day, however, it's all about fun, so you should play whoever provides you the most fun. I just know that, since switching to focusing on one or two champions, I've had much better luck consistently winning games, so I thought i would mention it.

Good luck!
