Ranked LP Problem.

I don't know this personally (because I'm not ranked), but I watch my boyfriend play ranked all the time. And I personally find how gaining and losing LP works ridiculous. An average win is between 12 and 17 LP while a loss is anywhere between 16 and 24 LP. It's more harder for him to level up in ranked and so easy to just get demoted. Sometimes in the matter of 2 or 3 games after losing his series he will be demoted back to a lower rank. I find that ridiculous. He loses more LP than he gains. How is that fair, Riot? Seriously? I keep telling him to complain to you guys but he keeps saying it would be useless because you guys never listen anyways. He's probably right, because I've complained to Riot a lot and nothing has ever changed, but I want to voice our opinion on how unfair this is. Especially when him losing a game isn't even his fault. I don't care if this sounds "whiny" or whatever. If that's how the ranking system works, then why bother play? Seems more of a hassle than it is to have fun.

Have you considered that your boyfriend is ranked too highly?

It's because his MMR is lower than the rank he's in. The system thinks he should be lower. The more he wins, the higher his MMR will get, and the better those wins/losses will look.

If your MMR is higher than your rank, you'll lose more and win less. If your MMR is lower than your rank, you'll lose less and win more.

As long as he keeps winning, his MMR will go up, and he'll notice that he'll start gaining more and losing less.

This system is there so someone can't have a lucky 8 game winning streak, end up a tier higher, and just sustain. The system wants you to earn the rankings you get.

It's fair. Might not be convenient, but it's fair.
