Suggestions:
Simple champions: Straight forward combos that are easy to learn. Stay away from the obvious, I know, but the again there are diamond players that still play Lee SIn despite have a person winrate of 30% on him... stick with Point Blank AoEs, simple Skill shots, point and clicks for now. You don't need to have to deal with "How can I QQ-E-ward-W-R-E-W" while also trying to figure out how to read the map, gank, countergank, and engage at the same time.
Tank junglers: Are usually better for new players, especially ones with lots of Utility and decent or even good first clears.
Champions that can early gank, but don't have to: Straight up, I think Nautilus might be one of the best choices for a new jungler. You have the option to gank early, But at the same time Naut's clear is good and he scales really well. Nautilus can perform well regardless of whether it's a fast slug fest or if he just ends up passive farming while waiting for an opportunity.
Devourer Jungles: If you're in a low elo, these are probably your best option for fighters, because they also fall into the above category. Most fighters, like Lee need to snowball early, but with Devourer, you can scale into the game regardless of whether you found good gank opportunities or not. (if you're in a higher elo, don't build devourer...)
avoid:
Early gankers: Specifially, champions like Lee Sin who really NEED to gank early and NEED to play well in the early game to win. definitely stay away from them until you learn how to jungle better. You don't really have the experience to know what champions you can/can't/shouldn't try to kill in their jungle, so avoid champions that need to do that.
Weak early clears: You don't really have the experience to always know what champions will counter jungle you, or how to recover if an experienced Lee or Khazix kills you at your second camp.
Champions that require specific game knowledge: So straight up, yeah Vi and Nunu are great picks. the problem is, Vi can build either Cinderhulk or Warrior, and should do both depending on the situation. Vi is great, but you need to be able to predict how the game is going to go before you build your first item, or know how badly your team needs you too engage. She fill a lot of the categories for a good champion to learn on, but I think this one thing might be a bit too hard. Nunu, also a great pick, but he really relies on being able to read the map, predict where the enemy jungle is going to be, and you need to be able t react well tot their ganks. A great pick, but I think you should avoid a heavy counter jungling/counter ganking champion. Even if he does scale well.
Trundle, ekko, and champions with a skill shot or an ability that doesn't work like normal abilities would. Using things like Trundles pillar is going to be hard for people who don't understand Zone control. Champions like Ekko and trundle generally require specific experience with the champion, you can't just jump on from another champion and re-calibrate from how you're used to aiming skill shots.
All of these champions, really, are good picks. (except Lee Sin) I just think a new Jungler should steer away from a few things.
